Enjoy this modern home built in 2015. It has a kitchen/great room that opens up to a spacious balcony overlooking the beach and the city park, or walk out the door to put your feet in the sand and the water! Rumor has it that surfing was first introduced to San Diego in 1916 at this exact location. So bring your surfboards and boogie boards and give it a try. Or bring your dog, since Ocean Beach is also home to the Original Dog Beach where people and pets, beach lovers and surfers celebrate one of Southern California's last true beach towns. Let your four-legged friend run and play leash-free in the sand and surf.

In addition to its beachside location, across the street and around the corner on Newport Avenue you will find dozens of small and independent restaurants, bars, coffee shops, ice cream parlors, and boutiques to satisfy all of your food and shopping cravings.

Be sure to check out the municipal pier, nationally famous burger joint Hodad;s, and if you are lucky enough to be here on a Wednesday (year round), enjoy the Farmer's Market which features locally grown produce, artisan products, food vendors & live music. Other popular events include the OB Kite Festival in May, the famous Street Fair & Chili Cook-off in June, the Fourth of July Drone Light Show, the Sunset Cliffs Car Show in September, OB Oktoberfest, and the Holiday Parade in December. If you are really lucky, perhaps you will see some of the “Parrots of Ocean Beach”, which is a flock of an estimated 200 to 300 wild parrots who make the Ocean Beach neighborhood their home..

I would not recommend this unit. Just outside our deck was an area that many homeless people gathered 24 hrs/day. We were extremely uncomfortable and felt we had to go out every single day. Also there were 25 stairs just to get down to the bedrooms. It's too bad, because it was a nice unit and very clean. I would not recommend this unit at all.

When I arrived I couldn't get in. The host did not return three phone calls or my email.There are steep dark stairs going down to the bedrooms.The lower flight has no way to turn on a light when going down – dangerous.The instructions to get into the trash area were terrible – there was a picture of a lock that didn't look anything like the actual lock.There is a nice view of the ocean – if one doesn't mind looking at and listening to all the transients in the park between the house and the ocean.The heating/cooling is confusing. There was a sign that only settings between 68 and 78 were allowed, but the only setting possible was 73.It was very clean. The beds were comfortable. Many TV channels/apps.

We loved this property! It is right next to the beach so the views were amazing. All the restaurants and shops in OB are withing about a 5 minute walk. You do hear planes from SAN, but that's pretty much everywhere in OB. The private parking in the garage is a great bonus.

This was an awful experience. The property is located right on the beach and we were expecting a very relaxing beautiful vacation. The beach views are beautiful but there is a large grass area directly outside the building with a large homeless population. There was urine and feces everywhere outside. We couldn’t open our doors to enjoy the view without feeling uncomfortable. Homeless tents, dogs, drugs, you name it. The patios are accessible to the public with the bedrooms on the first floor. Not safe. Also place was sticky and gross and smelled like dog poop. Management was responsive and did credit us. We left one night early and this place ruined 2 days of our vacation. Awful.

Weekend Visit

We had a laidback beach visit. Only to visit family and the area is an easy stay. Can park the car and walk to all places near by. As mentioned in previous reviews, there are stairs thst can be difficult with older folks or children. We had all adults in our group, so was not an issue for our group. OB has always been a lively place and rarely quit so keep that in mind before renting. This has been our family beach since childhood so the noise, traffic or airplanes were not a concern for our visit.

Lovely ocean view

Bad neighborhood, lots of homeless people in the park. Right in the flight path for large planes in and out of SD. 25 stairs to bedrooms, 17 stairs to beach. Condo was nice but not cozy. No throws or extra pillows, furniture not comfy, tables too far away to put beverage on. No guide for TV as far as how to operate and channels available.. ice maker was completely frozen so no ice! Beds were comfortable as well as nice deep tubs. We were not told about the constant plane noise or all the stairs. No guest book or information about shops and restaurants. We had a good time anyway but would not stay here again.
