SMALL ROOM BUT CLEAN, WELL APPOINTED. EXCELLENT LOCATION IN LITTLE ITALY CLOSE TO MULTIPLE RESTAURANTS. ALSO, WE STAYED FRIDAY NIGHT AND WOKE UP TO THE REGULAR STREET FAIR WHICH OCCURS EVERY SATURDAY ON W. DATE STREET.MANY VARIED STREET VENDORS, MUSIC FOOD. ALSO HAD A WONDERFUL BREAKFAST AT THE MORNING GLORY RESTAURANT ACROSS THE STREET FROM LA PENSIONE HOTEL. HE ONLY SUGGESTION FOR IMPROVEMENT WOULD BE TO HAVE A VENDING MACHINE - SNACKS/DRINKS - IN THE HOTEL.

This boutique hotel in the heart of Little Italy is an absolute gem. It's quaint, charming & perfectly situated right in the middle of all the action. The rooms are on the smaller side, but comfortable, thoughtfully designed, with great views of Little Italy & even glimpses of the harbor. A huge plus for me personally was the in-room fridge & the microwave conveniently located in the conference room on the first floor--perfect for guests like me who tend to eat in the room while others are asleep. Those little details made a big difference. What truly sets this hotel apart, though, is the stellar customer service. A special shout-out to Anneliese & Joe at the front desk--they were outstanding. Anneliese's lovely attitude, warm smile & welcoming energy made us feel like we were VIPs. She was incredibly patient & accommodating, even taking the time to show us three different rooms so we could choose the one that suited us best for our Anniversary stay. We ultimately chose the corner room & it was absolutely the right decision. With four full-length windows spanning both walls of the corner room, the view was extraordinary--perfectly capturing the charm & vibrant energy of Little Italy. It was the best of both worlds: the comfort & coziness of being indoors while soaking in the sights, movement & character of the surrounding city. Room was clean and spacious. Shower pressure was terrible. It had very little pressure. Checking in and out was very easy. We encountered one female staff who was texting while helping us. She said she would have towels sent to our room but they never came.

The pictures of the rooms on the site don't match the actual quality of the rooms. The location is great, staff is very helpful, but the rooms are not at all what I was expecting. The rooms are clean but there were chips in the walls, baseboards, carpet fraying, and a weird smell when you first walk in that smelled somewhat like cigarettes. Perhaps it was a smoking room a long time ago and the smell is stuck in the walls. Neighborhood was quiet at night when I was there which was nice.

The location was great for our needs because our son and new daughter in law live around the corner. But the rooms are very very small. The morning coffee was hard to get t, around the corner and up and down stairs. Why not just have the coffee in the lobby? Little Italy was great!! This place is about location, not comfortable.
