Tastefully Decorated but Rooms are Small

The hotel is cute, clean, and tastefully decorated. The old elevators add an extra layer of charm to the building. The location is also great. It's easy to walk outside and find a store, cafe, or cool event venue nearby. Additionally, I like the fact that I got a complimentary drink voucher when I checked in. On the downside, the Queen room was small. The bathroom sink was in the bedroom. There was no desk, and it never felt as if there were enough surfaces to put things on. The fridge was also completely full (of pricey drinks), so we had to pull things out in order to use it, and those things just took up more of the already limited counter space. Valet parking was also steep-- $65/ night.

Our room was very very cute! The entire aesthetic of the building was adorable. However, the elevators (all though so cool) aren’t the most user friendly and our room was right by the elevator which had a very loud door, we could also hear all the outside noise keeping me up all night but it is downtown so bound to happen. I was mostly disappointed that our shower didn’t drain at all

The elevators!

The history behind this hotel was interesting and the fact that they kept the original elevators!! That was an amazing experience. The only thing that was a bit difficult was the parking situation but other than that, amazing place to stay!

I really didn’t want to leave a bad review for this hotel but I’m hoping they can make some changes for guests in the future. The $65 parking fee is insane even if it is for valet, especially considering you’re charged a $25 destination fee as well. Like other reviews mention the rooms are extremely small but it’s an older building and we knew that before booking. The bedsheets were scratchy and not the best quality and the mattress was sunk in on each side. On a good note, the decor is very cute, the private rooftop is beautiful, and the service is great. Also relatively quiet and safe feeling for being downtown.
