Nestled in the peace and quiet of the hills of San Giovanni Ilarione, within the historic district known as Panarotti, lies a cluster of old houses arranged in a row, flanked by a barn that was once used to shelter animals. This complex has now been renovated with the aim of preserving the history of this place—a humble farmhouse from days gone by, where the farmers had little but everything they needed to be happy.
Originally, there were three houses, arranged in a row. Now, following a major interior renovation, they have been combined to form two separate dwellings flanked by the barn, which is now used to store both antique and modern tools.
The interior renovations were carried out with the aim of preserving the property’s historical character. Upon entering, you’ll find yourself on the ground floor in a modest living room featuring a wood-burning stove used in winter to heat the property, in addition to a pellet stove located on the ground floor. The heating method using stoves is the same as that used in the past, so there are warmer and cooler areas within the property; for this reason, this property is best suited in winter for those who are aware they are coming to enjoy a rustic experience. In the room next to the entrance is the kitchen, fully equipped with everything you need to cook during your stay. Wooden and wrought-iron stairs lead to the upper floors. On the ground floor, you’ll find a room with a completely renovated bathroom featuring a shower, and in another room, the first bedroom with a double bed and a single bed; in yet another room, the second bedroom with a double bed, and directly connected to it, a third bedroom with two single beds. On the second floor, you’ll find the fourth bedroom with two single beds, and next to it, the fifth bedroom with a double bed and a single bed. Each bedroom is equipped with a TV connected to a simple antenna. We have deliberately chosen not to provide an internet connection so as not to detract from the tranquility these surroundings offer, between walks in nature and the simplicity of the place.
Outside, in the courtyard, there is a fireplace for making pizzas and enjoying a nice barbecue with friends.
A short distance away, on a plot of land I own, I run a small farm with various animals, such as goats, chickens, geese, and others, which I’d be happy to show you if you’d like to see them.
