About this property

Palazzo Serre - Villa in the Countryside with Pool

Located just below the iconic fortress of San Leo, Palazzo Serre is a historic residence that blends the charm of tradition with modern comfort. Surrounded by rolling hills and ancient stone walls, the property offers a unique sense of peace, authenticity, and privacy.

The main house features spacious living areas, a fully equipped kitchen, a cinema room, and several bedrooms — all with private ensuite bathrooms. Interiors are warm and elegant, with exposed beams and natural materials that reflect the timeless character of the region.

Outside, guests can relax in a large garden with panoramic views, enjoy the swimming pool and two jacuzzis (available seasonally), or dine under the stars in one of the outdoor lounges.

An independent dependance with two additional rooms provides extra comfort and privacy for larger groups.

Palazzo Serre is the perfect setting for family holidays, intimate events, or exclusive retreats, offering the beauty of the Italian countryside in a place rich in history and charm.
Palazzo Serre stands on a hill in the Montefeltro region, at the foot of San Leo, one of Italy’s most beautiful medieval villages. From the garden and the windows, guests can admire an extraordinary panorama of the Valmarecchia valley and the majestic San Leo Fortress.

The residence offers eight bedrooms with a total capacity of 17 guests, arranged as follows:

2 triple rooms with one double bed and one single bed

5 double rooms with a double bed

1 single room with a French bed (queen size)

All bedrooms feature private ensuite bathrooms.

Stone and wood are the key elements of this historic home, creating warm, rustic, and welcoming spaces that reflect the soul of the Montefeltro countryside.

The outdoor areas offer the same sense of comfort and beauty, with two panoramic wood-heated jacuzzis, a heated swimming pool, and an outdoor kitchen under a covered patio — perfect for enjoying meals with a breathtaking view of the valley.

Palazzo Serre is designed for family holidays and gatherings of friends, where nature, history, and relaxation come together in perfect harmony.

Please note that the city tax is not included in the accommodation price.
The city tax is €2.00 per person per night and applies to guests aged 16 and over. It must be paid separately during the stay.

The swimming pool and the jacuzzi are available from mid May to mid September.
Outside of this period, their use is at our discretion and depends on weather conditions and scheduled maintenance.
Palazzo Serre is accessible only by car and is best reached with your own vehicle or a rental car, as public transportation does not serve the area directly. The property features a large private garden and parking area that can comfortably accommodate up to twelve vehicles.

The location ensures privacy and tranquility, while still allowing easy access to the nearby villages of San Leo, Santarcangelo di Romagna, and San Marino.

The Location
Next to Palazzo Serre runs the ancient path once used to reach San Leo, today part of the Cammino di San Francesco, the pilgrimage route that connects Rimini to La Verna. Just a few minutes away lies San Leo, recognized as one of Italy’s Most Beautiful Villages and awarded the Orange Flag by the Italian Touring Club. Its fortress, mentioned by Dante Alighieri in the Divine Comedy, was the site of the imprisonment and death of Giuseppe Balsamo, known as the Count of Cagliostro, a mysterious historical figure whose legend still fascinates visitors today. Within walking distance from the property stands the Pieve di Sant’Igne, a 13th-century Franciscan church immersed in the woods.

The surrounding area offers a variety of opportunities to explore and enjoy the region: guests can visit San Marino, the world’s oldest Republic, or the charming town of Santarcangelo di Romagna, known for its cobbled streets, local craft shops, and vibrant cultural life. Palazzo Serre also collaborates with local farms and producers, allowing guests to discover authentic food and wine experiences, tastings, and countryside traditions. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy scenic hiking and cycling routes that start directly from the property, surrounded by the hills and valleys of Montefeltro.

Palazzo Serre is the perfect place to experience the genuine beauty of the Italian countryside, where history, nature, and culture come together in perfect harmony.
