Our check in experience was stupendous. The location of the Carlton in Atascadero is perfect for those that like to walk around and explore. The restaurants are walking distance and the free parking experience was a plus. Now the rooms were outstanding and super clean. I would recommend this hotel to any family member of close friend. You won't regret your stay!

Room was kind of musty but we had just had bad rains so im guess that was the issue after we opened the windows and the sun came out all was good. Bed super comfortable, very quiet but lots of good places to drink and eat eithin walking distance. Nice older hotel that has been updated but still has that old hotel charm.

Cute little hotel in a great area for going out and getting something to eat or drink! I will say you can hear the air conditioner turned on and off quite loudly throughout the night, which did continue to wake me up and while the bed is very comfortable, the bedding is extremely heavy and feels like it’s designed for somewhere very cold. Also, garbage can start getting cleaned up around 6:30 and it goes on for a good half an hour and it’s quite noisy.

This is a lovely hotel with so much character. So much nicer than staying with one of the chains. The staff were all very polite and helpful. Conveniently located to many restaurants. Highly recommend.

We always love that hotel and the field that you get when you stay there. We are OK with the new renovations although we do miss the 1920s sort of decor. The one thing that we always have issues with is there’s always something amiss. In this case, there were no waters bottled or otherwise available to purchase whether in the room or down in the check-in desk. Also, one of the lamps on the side of our bed did not have any bulb and when we brought that up we were told they were ordered.

This is a diamond in the rough. We were only looking for a stop point for rest on our travel along the wine stops from No Cal to our home in Carlsbad. While some of the property is getting remodeled, in the section operating we enjoyed a vintage trip to the early 1900s but with clean and new fuxturing and features.. CmGreat price Great stay.

Hotel changed the room from what I orginally booked . I booked a king size balcony and was put in a inside double queen. No Discount, bathroom light was inop and bathroom sink leaked. Notified management, problems stayed unresolved.
