The Stargazer`s Retreat is The Cedar`s most immersive room — a dark, moody escape designed to feel like sleeping under the stars. A constellation map mural stretches across the wall while tasteful glow-in-the-dark stars transform the ceiling into your own private night sky.

The room features deep blue linens, dark curtains for total blackout, and moon phase art that sets the tone from the moment you step inside. The intimate footprint is an asset here — every detail pulls you deeper into the atmosphere.

Located in the front building of The Cedar with views toward Sandusky Bay, The Stargazer`s Retreat is perfect for couples, solo travelers, or anyone who needs a quiet place to decompress and dream.

CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT
Check-in: 3:00pm to 11:00pm (self check-in, no front desk). Check-out: 11:00am. Late check-out without prior approval may be charged at half the nightly rate. Your access details arrive by email before arrival.

AGE
The primary guest must be at least 21 years old and physically staying at the property.

OCCUPANCY
Do not exceed the maximum occupancy listed for this room. Overnight visitors not on the reservation are not permitted.

PETS
The Cedar is pet-friendly. Dogs only, maximum 2 per room, each under 50 lbs. Please disclose your dog at booking so the pet fee can be applied and we can prepare the room. ADA service animals are welcome at no charge with advance notice. Emotional support animals are welcomed under the same terms as other pets. Clean up after your dog around the property, keep dogs leashed in common areas, and do not leave pets unattended in the room. Undisclosed pets, or exceeding the dog count or size limit: $250 minimum cleaning fee.

SMOKING
Strictly non-smoking indoors - cigarettes, cigars, vapes, e-cigarettes, cannabis, and any other smoking material. Smoking indoors (including in the bathroom or with windows open) results in a $500 cleaning and deodorizing fee. Smoke outdoors in designated areas only.

QUIET HOURS & EVENTS
Quiet hours: 10:00pm to 8:00am. No parties, large gatherings, or events. Contact us before booking if you would like to host a small group.

PARKING
Free on-site parking. Rooms 1-6 use the front (waterfront) lot. Rooms 7-12 use the rear (courtyard) lot. One vehicle per room; let us know in advance for additional vehicles or trailers.

WILDLIFE & INSECTS
The Cedar is directly on Sandusky Bay. Seasonally you may see mayflies (a harmless Lake Erie summer hatch), midges, mosquitoes, spiders, ladybugs, wasps, geese, ducks, or gulls. We treat the property regularly. Please keep doors closed and do not leave food or trash outside. Refunds are not issued for insect activity, weather, or natural conditions outside our control.

ADDITIONAL CLEANING
Cleaning beyond standard turnover (excessive trash, food spills, stains, sand or mud, pet hair, or anything requiring extra labor or linen replacement) is charged at a $150 minimum, with additional charges based on time and materials.

DAMAGES
Guests are responsible for damage to the room, furnishings, or property beyond normal wear and tear. Items removed from the room are charged at replacement cost.

RIGHT TO REFUSE
The Cedar reserves the right to refuse service, cancel a reservation, or require a guest to leave without refund for policy violations, damage, disturbing other guests, illegal activity, or false information at booking.

LIABILITY
The Cedar is a waterfront property used at your own risk. The Cedar is not responsible for personal injury, illness, loss, or damage to personal property except where required by law. Supervise children at all times, especially near water and parking.
