Dirty Bath aTub, denied request to change rooms!

I am an avid traveler, and this is the first time I was denied when requesting to change rooms when the one given was dirty. There were several available rooms too! The front desk simply said once a room is assigned in their system, it cannot be changed. She said I can complain to the manager in the morning and maybe he might give me a discount! Beware of this and avoid this place at all costs!!

Location is very convenient to UCSB, staff friendly, room clean enough and bed comfortable. AC worked, and didn’t experience any noise issues between rooms.

Reeked of cigarette smell

I was given a room which was steeped in cigarette smell, horrible… and the room phone didn’t work either, when i tried to call front desk. Finally called from my phone and they gave me another room which was ok. But too much time wasted in the whole process.

The room was one of the smallest doubles I've ever stayed in, both beds shoved against the walls with a narrow aisle between them, very dated interior, bedframes falling apart. A lot of mdf furniture in poor condition.

Nicely appointed modern room with lots of pleasant lighting. TV, fridge and microwave all worked great. Convenient in-room large dining table with booth seating and extra chair.
