Perfect location

This place was a great stay. It is centrally located, convenient to amenities, the freeway, gas stations and dining. It took us only 10 minutes to get into Solvang. The breakfast was good and simple. Coffee and pastries were served. The pool was clean and warm. They also had a small putting area with lots of tables and gas fire pits. I loved the patio off of the room. It was so nice and relaxing to sit out there and drink your coffee or enjoy the fire pits. The only complaint that we had was the cleanness of the room. On the surface it was clean but there were several spider webs, the floor was filthy and made our feet black and the screen door was ripped. It needs some updating. The price was amazing and everyone was so nice. I would definitely stay here again.

Everything about the hotel itself was excellent: staff, cleanliness, value, convenience, free newspaper, breakfast pastries, WiFi, filtered water system. But it’s sad to see the old restaurant and special conference building established in 1924 out of business and dilapidated. Overall, however, my stay at Pea Soups was excellent. I always choose this particular hotel when I’m in the area. Thank you!

So-so stay at the inn

There were several things in the room that were in disrepair: leaky soap dispenser by bathroom sink, sink faucet leaks, shower nozzle not spraying evenly, screen door had tears and wouldn’t close completely or lock. The floor was a bit dirty, and I prefer carpet. The mattress was a too soft. There was not a way to safely let the outside air in, so we had to use the air conditioning even though it was nice and cool outside. The air conditioning blew really strongly on me while I was trying to sleep because the adjustable vent was no longer adjustable (broken). The good things were it was quiet and dark in the room overnight. I really appreciate the room darkening curtains (even though they had a little holes in them) and the quietness.

Front desk gentleman was friendly. Got us settled pretty quickly. Room was fine upon arrival. Nothing special. Mattress was extremely uncomfortable Water pressure in shower was great. Need a better shower curtain. Pool was nice. Spa did not heat up. Took awhile to get fixed. Price seemed a bit high for the overall experience.

We booked here in the morning to secure a room. Then spent the morning and early afternoon shopping in Solvang. Alas, our plan to enjoy dinner at Pea Soup Anderson’s Restaurant was foiled: it went out of business in January 2024. So we had Gino’s excellent pizza delivered. Problem solved. Though we miss the pea soup and short walk to the restaurant.

Nice rooms -- much better than comparably priced motels. But there was some traffic noise in our room, which faced the front of the complex and the road.
