The Santa Barbara Whale House

Your own private health getaway, artist's retreat, and bathhouse. 

Welcome to our psychedelic sculptural home from the 1970s. 

Inspired by Gaudí, the Whale House's flowing curves contain a 75 foot saltwater pool, ozonated peroxide hot tub in the second floor bedroom, hand-carved sauna, and outdoor shower. The two rooms sleep up 4 people and feature organic EarthFoam mattresses. 

A walk away to the Botanic Gardens and a short drive to downtown SB.

When you walk in the front door you're greeted by a small pond and a stairwell. You can either take the stairs down to the sauna and pool, up to the two bedrooms and hot tub, or enter the first floor which features the living room, fireplace, kitchen, dining area, patio, and a powder room. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. The 2nd floor bedroom, with the hot tub, is technically a mezannine as it shares some space with the living room below. The top floor bedroom is completely private. The sauna and the hot tub fit 2-4 people snuggly. The grounds are freshly landscaped with multiple ponds, exotic and native plants, and a staircase lined with passionfruit down to the seasonal creek. 

Someone will tour you through the house upon arrival to show you the quirks. After that, you wont see us unless you ask!
