Not a 4-star and poor management!

Awful customer service, poor AC so the rooms are always hot, low security. We were unable to sleep well since our room never got below 25°C, we made the hotel aware on the first date after which they confirmed a technician had worked on our unit. 2nd night was still the same so we called reception, after being told nothing could be done they eventually agreed to move us to a different room. At midnight we had to pack and change rooms. Worst part is they issued us keys to a room that was already occupied! We walked in on people sleeping!! They were scared, we were startled, overall a terrible experience. We were finally put in a different room which also never got below 25°C!!! This hotel is not a 4 star hotel as advertized, it's dated, breakfast is the same mix of cheeses and meats and pastries every day. This is more like a 3 star hotel with poor management.

The food at breakfast is terrible and especially so for folks who are lactose intolerant. There were no down pillows just really uncomfortable synthetic ones. Housekeeper didn't even put toilet paper on the holder. Not a 4 star hotel.

The rooms are okay but nothings special. The carpet in the room and hallways was not in very good condition. The shower needed to be recaulked. The springs in one of our beds made a lot of noise when the person moved. The view from the room was of an alley and unappealing. The service at dinner was horrible and the food was mediocre.

Great rooms, good location !

The hotel is in a good location and the rooms are excellent. My only issues were that the downstairs bar was never open and the restuarant will not win any awards. Good value for money.

Nice looking hotel. The reception are really nice. We were given room 401, view onto a building and like a generator. Fine for us as we were not spending much time at the hotel. Good transport options for exploring Santiago and the front desk were able to provide helpful directions. There are many positives but I was disappointed by the 24hr pool which isn’t heated. I would have liked to have an evening swim. Though there is a gym there wasn’t really a shower so not ideal if you go after check out.

Wonderful hotel in great location

We spent 2 nights pre-cruise here at Solace Hotel. We arrived very early morning after an overnight plane trip and was given the option to pay a discounted rate to have access to our room and the breakfast buffet. This really helped us recharge after a meal and a short nap to enable us to take advantage of the first day in the great city. The room is well equipped with bottled water replenished daily in the refridgerator and the bed was very comfortable. The elevator worked well, getting us quickly to our 8th floor room. The only problem with the room was the shower floor was quite slippery so we ended up putting a towel inside the shower pan to prevent any slipping injuries. We loved this very modern hotel, especially the roof-top bar. It is on a quiet street that was walkable to the Cerro San Cristobal. All the front desk personnel were wonderful with great suggestions. The breakfast buffet was very good and tables were fairly plentiful and cleaned quickly. The even offered to make me one of the best Eggs Benedicts I have ever had! If we ever have to chance to be in Santiago again, we will definitely stay at Solace Hotel!

An exceptional home away from home!

We couldn’t have picked a better hotel than the Solace!!! Felipe and Kevin were at the front desk when we checked in.. Both of them were so helpful, and were amazingly accommodating! It was early morning.. They gave us our room and complimentary breakfast, which was totally unexpected! We hadn’t slept for well over 24 hours and just to get in a room to plug in our cell phones was greatly appreciated! After an entire day of touring Santiago with the guide, we came back to the room. It was a quiet and peaceful place to call home. We went to the rooftop bar for drinks and snacks, which was lovely. The servers there were also wonderful, especially Anderson. Nobody was swimming, but the pool looked really inviting. Breakfast had a lot of variety and there was availability of all the types of coffees and cappuccinos 24/7! There was ample water in the fridge in our room +2 cans of complementary sodas plus Lavazzo coffee plus the coffee machine in our room. We did not use it because there was ample coffee downstairs. Our room was spacious., quiet and the view was beautiful. I was sorry we couldn’t stay longer. However, we will return.

Very convenient area, we walked around in the evenings for dinner and felt very safe. Beautiful views from the rooftop bar and restaurant. Pool could have been cleaner, it was slightly cloudy.

Great staff. Location few steps from metro station, quiet neighborhood, close to shopping malls, restaurants and staff. Water in the rooms, soft drinks including sugar free very convenient. Breakfast was included but not impressive, few fruit selection, bread was not fresh but overall experience was very good. Top terrace, dining and pool were also great.
