Always a good choice

Many times I come back to this hotel. Because the beds are comfortable and the ocean view is big. The rooms are enough for what I need and the breakfast buffet is really great in this hotel so I always try to stay in this place when I have time for breakfast the next morning.. The only thing that didn’t work out was decaf coffee in the morning.

I would definitely recommend. Safety is paramount due to my job back in America and I can say the area and hotel exceeds the security measures put into place. I saw police officers in trucks riding up and down the streets with blue lights on non stop, I saw police officers drop inside of the hotel and they even hire overnight security to provide extra security.

During my recent stay at Hotel Catalonia Santo Domingo, I encountered a very frustrating situation that significantly impacted my experience. I had to change rooms three times due to recurring issues with the air conditioning system. Each move was inconvenient and disruptive—packing and unpacking repeatedly, interrupting my schedule, and dealing with ongoing uncertainty about whether the next room would be functional. This type of issue is unacceptable in a hotel of this category. It reflects a lack of effective preventive maintenance and a service process that fails to prioritize guest comfort when technical problems arise. I appreciate the staff’s courtesy and their efforts to assist, but the fact that the problem persisted highlights a more serious operational concern. I hope the hotel addresses these issues seriously. While the location and general facilities are very good, situations like this greatly affect trust and the likelihood of booking again in the future.

Nice hotel, needs a bit of an update tho. Toilet was constantly running and you have to mind that you are next to a busy road which is noisy. We liked our stay.
