My stay was booked through Expedia & this hotel had its ups & downs. While waiting to board, the airline canceled my flight. I immediately emailed to cancel my booking, transfer & explain what happened. I received a great response advising to notify them of my new dates. A new booking was made for the following week. I notified the hotel of the dates & requested airport transfer.
Now things get a little dicey. The week prior, I reached out multiple times by email and telephone to confirm my pick-up at the airport. During our phone conversation the booking was confirmed, but things didn’t go as planned.
My flight was a little early. Upon arrival, I exited & did not see the driver I requested. I tried not to panic. I called the hotel & was informed that no one was coming,and I should take a cab.
Now, cue the panic—I'm in a foreign country, don’t speak the language, & as you are landing, you are warned not to take rides from strangers. I felt very panicked and nervous as I realized I had no choice but to navigate the situation on my own.
To make things worse, the next day, the hotel asked me to pay the driver who had arrived for the original pick-up, despite my canceling the ride hours earlier. After expressing my frustration, they did send a kind apology email, but by that point, I was already pretty disheartened by the whole experience.
Positives were the hotel was mostly clean, though I did find chewed gum on the windowsill in my room. Breakfast was great. Staff was kin
