Great location, but some drawbacks.
Pros:Central location with great view. Delicious breakfasts. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent airport transfer service. Spacious and clean room.
Cons:Assign a more spacious outside area for the family cave room. Relax rules for drinking and eating in common area.
Location:Hotel was in the centre of Fira. Magnificent views of the caldera. Close to cable car & steps to the old port. Took trip to volcano. Rode the donkeys.
Originally booked wrong dates and had to beg for dates to be changed and pay a lot more. Our room was a family room, very roomy and spotlessly clean. Couldn't use the chest of draws as it had a musty smell, but there was plenty of other wardrobe space for our clothes. Although the hotel was in a fantastic location, very central in Fira, an overlooking the caldera, our actual room was the cave type with no direct view. Our private outside area was on the other side of steps to other rooms, was very small, very hot, and facing sideways from the view. As our room was supposed to sleep 4, the outside area could only accommodate 2 in quite cramped conditions. When we attempted to use the spacious common area, we were told we weren't permitted to drink or eat beverages or food which had purchased from outside the hotel, even though there was no bar or restaurant at the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the included breakfasts were delicious, the room was serviced perfectly, and the transfer service to and from the airport was reasonably priced and the service couldn't be faulted. Apart from the drawbacks mentioned, we had an enjoyable stay.
