Wonderful stay and well looked after

A beautiful house renovated to high standards. Perfectly sized pool with view over the hills. The owner lives nearby so was on hand to answer any questions and offer recommendations. We took advantage of the personal chef option on a couple of occasions, which we enjoyed very much and was great value in a room set aside. Highly recommended.

Lovely stay in converted barn in quiet location.

What a wonderful holiday we have just had staying in Clos Lamonzie. Before arrival communication with the owner Olivier was very good. He was very quick in responding to any enquiries we had. On arrival we were "wowed" by the lovely appearance of stone built property and the views from the pool area were very pretty. The house is located in a tiny hamlet positioned between Tamnies ( Lake beach) and Marquay (pretty village) and is very peaceful. The drive into Sarlat is down a windy road but only takes about 10 mins. The nearest supermarket is about 10 mins. There is a bakery slightly closer. The house itself was very clean and is very well equipped for a group of 8 (though we were only 5). There was enough cutlery/glasses for several per person and a wide variety of kitchen equipment, comfy sofas and fans for the bedrooms in the roof. The decor was very stylish and finished to a high spec. The beds were very comfy and the showers good. The only thing lacking was a full length mirror. One thing of note is the layout of the bedrooms upstairs. It worked fine for us as we were a family but one of the bedrooms is only accessible through another bedroom which may be difficult for couples. The pool was amazing. Heated to a lovely temperature, the infinity pool offered stunning views across the valley and this is where the kids spent most of their time. The garden is large, though on a slope. The house is well located with lots of places to visit nearby. Sarlat (a medieval town) is very pretty has an abundance of restaurants and shops plus a very busy market on Saturdays. Also within reach is beautiful La Roque Gargeac and Domme. We canoed down the Dordogne, visited chateaus and the children particularly enjoyed the via feretta at Marqueyssac (not for the faint hearted!) We have been staying in gites in France for over 10 years and Clos Lamonzie is one of the best. We enjoyed it so much that we are returning next year. Thank you Olivier for sharing your beautiful property with us.See you next year!
