Checked in to the hotel, came up to our room and we could smell sewer in the hallway a bit and then our room after being in it for literally 5 minutes maybe. Phoned tbe front, no answer so went down to the desk and told them what was wrong, shortly after the housekeeper came and gave the bathroom a quick clean. But still smelt something after that. As they checked the smell thw housekeeper made us aware that its been like that for a few days on our floor or by our room. Someone messaged asking how our room was, and told them our room was good aside from the smell and didnt hesr back from them after that. No apologies or anything from the front desk or manager.

The hotel was nice, and it was great having a little kitchenette in the room. Pool was small, but wasn’t busy when we used it. Staff was friendly and helpful. Compared to other stays in Saskatoon it was comparable, but the cost was much higher.

The remote control for the TV in our room didn’t work properly, the hotel staff responded quickly and were very nice but didn’t fix or replace the remote because they didn’t have any spares. The jets in the hot tub didn’t work and the pool had no towels due to the large number of people at the pool. The rooms are showing wear and tear but the staff were nice. The hotel was very full and I think everyone was doing their best. The entry way floors were dirty and that got tracked into the breakfast area. All of the yogurts at the breakfast were several days past their best before date. It used to be our main place to stay in Saskatoon but we had not been there for some time. We will likely look for other options next time when it’s a weekend stay. It might be quieter and cleaner on a weekday. It seemed to be a busy weekend for them.

This is my regular place to stay and while everything about it is typically great, this time the staff person did not greet me and continued their phone conversation for six minutes before acknowledging me. After arriving late at night after a long journey, it was disappointing to be kept waiting so long to check in. Staff have always put calls on hold to quickly check me in previously, otherwise it was a great stay as usual.
