The loud buzzing that came from the room heating system mounted by the window made it almost impossible to sleep in this room. Despite the fact that the heater had almost no impact on the temperature in the room (it only rose from 60 to 68 degrees during the night), I tried turning off the power to it until I realized that doing so had no impact at all on the loud noise coming from the unit.
On a positive note, the bed was very comfortable, and the staff, including one of the receptionists and the van driver, were most welcoming and helpful. Because it was not initially clear that our Hotels.com reservation had gone through, I had called the hotel’s direct reservation number to confirm it and was surprised to hear the young woman who answered say that we did not have a reservation but that she “had too much to do to make one” for us, but said that if we wanted to “hold for awhile,” someone might eventually be able to help. Since it was already 8:30 pm on the night of our intended stay, that tempted us to find somewhere else to stay. Fortunately our second attempt to make the reservation through Hotels.com was successful.
Were it not for a short night and the need to rise for a very early flight, we would have asked for a different room.
All things considered, if the heater had been functional and less noisy, we might consider staying at the Seattle SeaTac Marriott Courtyard again.
