The property is ideally located near COEX and Starfield Mall and has great access to public transport. It's a shame that there was construction outside for 7 d/w. Great rooftop bar, laundry was great for a long stay, staff were very helpful. Loved the soap and shampoo in the bathroom! Gym too small/limited for a long stay.

Room hotter than hell

To preface, my daughter and I stayed here only 2 months ago on a bike trip. We liked the location, and we enjoyed our "Netflix" room with bed. But we could not rent that room this time as we were now a party of three. Our room was so strange. Somwthing, a sign blocked our view, which was no problem. But, our thermostat was broken during our stay, and the room was over 28 degrees. The engineer came to fix it in the morning as it was apparent that it was a bigger issue and the heat was no longer bearable. I tried to explain to the front desk, but there was no manager on duty (conveniently) until 2pm, and a trainee completed my checkout---though I did not receive any receipt of my stay. Buffet is medicore. There are far more interesting options if you walk across the road to COEX.

NO AIR CONDITIONING IN THE ROOMS

NO AIR CONDITIONING IN THE ROOMS. My room was up to 27.5 degrees C. I complained to the manager and asked for a refund for the 2 rooms I booked, but got no response. She said there was no air conditioning even though the hallways and the lobby were nice and cool. It was not just my room, that had a problem. I was traveling with 2 other people who had their own rooms and the same issue. I think they don't air condition the rooms until later in the season no matter how hot they get. In fact the manager told me it was cold outside. I will never stay at this hotel again.

First room's bidet didn't work, asked to change rooms, and second room's bidet didn't work either. Stayed in second room anyways but asked them to take a look, nothing happened throughout the one week stay. Air condition was only on, on certain times (e.g. only from afternoon to early morning), and didn't work well. Despite setting 18 deg C (as a test), my room reached 26 degrees C (79-80 F) which is not a comfortable sleeping temperature. Thankfully weather outside got colder and I opened the window. Found long black hairs in the bed (i.e. not mine). Lobby is on top floor which is a bit inconvenient. All that coupled with the ongoing construction outside makes me not recommend it to others.

The stay at Shilla was a great experience. The location is very convenient with the COEX Starfield mall just opposite the hotel and the subway station right at doorstep. The room was clean and cosy. The receptionists are friendly and helpful during my stay. Will return next time! - Arthur King

I've been to the area a few times before. My only complain is the construction noise. I know they build a high speed train track there. Hotel staff was nice and booked me a room on the upper floor, but still the noise wasn't pleasant especially on a weekend. The noise didn't justify the hotel price. I would only book again when outside construction is finished.

The hotel is on the nice place in Coex Seoul. W o was on 17 floor and no problem with noise from construction on the street. Breakfast is good with varieties of food. Staff in the hotel as all Koreans are very kind. Coex is nice area and subway is just 1 min walk from the hotel. There’s no problem walking around at any time. We had cca 110000 walking steps for 6 days stay.

I don’t recommend to stay at shilla hotel

Very noisy on street side and no window on the village side. Staff are not friendly. I booked for 3 nights in two different bookings. The top is not clean and the pillow and sheets are smelling good or something.
