Serene 1-bedroom Log Cabin - The St. Croix - on Lake Superior's South Shore

One of two log cabins on a private 1.5-acre stretch of Lake Superior shoreline. Each cabin stands on its own with its own bedroom, its own bath, and its own fire pit — book just this one, or take both with friends and family and have the whole property to yourselves.

Inside, the great room rises to a vaulted ceiling with a gas fireplace at its heart. Log walls, windows on three sides, and the lake in view from nearly all of them. The kitchen is small but complete — range, refrigerator, microwave — with a dining table for two by the window.

Up the open stair, the loft bedroom holds a queen bed under the peak. The three-quarter bath is on the main floor.

Decks front and back mean you can follow the sun or escape it. Down the path, your own fire pit and seating overlook the water, with stairs leading to the shore — where the agates turn up in the gravel if you're patient.

The setting

Quiet Bayfield Peninsula. No crowds, no traffic, no light pollution — remarkable stars, and the northern lights when conditions cooperate. Fiber optic internet if you need to work. Most guests would rather not.

Traveling with another couple? Our second cabin, sits nearby on the same property. Same layout, same lake, separate front doors. Book both for a group of four with genuine privacy.
