However, if you plan to visit this part of Japan, you have the option to get a room in Niseko, which is 60 kilometres from Shakotan. Niseko hotels include the Niseko Konbu Onsen Tsuruga Besso Moku No Sho and Hilton Niseko Village.

Very convenient location between the rain station and the main attraction street. Very cozy cute hotel. The bathroom was super small though. Breakfast buffet was pretty good and well organised, online waiting room really helped. Per my understanding parking is limited, but we did not have a car. View of the canal was nice. Onsen was pretty small, but at least not that crowded. No sauna and both baths were pretty hot. Other than that, I would stay there again.
