I asked about upgrade since its a vip access hotel but the staff told me it would be additional charge, so I wasn’t sure if this should be listed still as a perk since its confusing. Otherwise great stay!

Location - 10/10 - close to many sights. The hotel itself is a tourist destination! Room - 10/10 - gorgeous, spacious, elegant Service - 10/10 - excellent, above and beyond, front desk spoke good English Breakfast - 11/10 - incredible! Bed - 2/10 - my king size bed had two very deep, body sized indents that I unfortunately did not notice the first night of my stay because I was so tired. I woke up to tremendous back pain that lasted several days. If you require a firm mattress for comfort I recommend requesting a room with a newer mattress if it’s possible. Luckily the spa upstairs offers a great massage.

My favorite hotel, 100% satisfied with the hotel’s service, staff and location… The hotel lobby, the rooms are such a beautiful. Specially the bed is super comfortable, we will go back again.

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. Service is excellent. Gold club room and lounge worth of every penny. Location directly onto the Bund with lots of shopping nearby. Would recommend to anyone looking for upmarket hotel in Shanghai and will certainly be back. Thank you to all the very helpful staff.
