Looking at the pictures online , its apparent these pictures are from years back or re touched , This barely makes 3 star, at best,location 4 star, Lets start with the positive Location is phenomenal, Just right on the Thames ,beautiful view, 3 minute drive or 15 minute walk into Shepperton, this town is a real lazy hazy town, personally i loved it . Housekeeping have a massive task to do its just grubby worn out desperately in need of a makeover, Dealing with hotel staff, apart from two ladies ,and one gentleman in housekeeping i found them very unhelpful, No matter my request, the answer was no every time, I needed to extend my stay, Even though the fire alarm went off my first night for hours, the water pressure was nothing but a strong dribble to the shower, one morning zero hot water, maintenance couldnt fix the issue the managers, only concern was money pay now, i was not expecting, a discount ,just recognition and maybe an apology, But alas ,the money for the extra night was top priority, The menu is dated, ( vegetarian) where i only had really one choice, which after having tasted the food i felt not worth eating ! The bread clearly had been in the freezer for months ,i could not even cut through with a knife, I asked if they would be sble to do a simple dish spaghetti, Florin most unhelpful member of staff ,was not interested , So they lost my custom as i popped into Shepperton for some wonderful service and food. Just location wins this..

Fantastic location with amazing view over the river. It was lovely to be able to sit outside with a nice cold pint watching the world go by.

In photos the hotel looked quite pretty, unfortunately it was let down by the following. Reception has high desk & you look over & down to receptionist. She finished her previous task in silence, head down - remained head down & seated whilst asking if we had a booking & our name Pointed to where we should be signing & just about saw her face whilst she directed us to go left, upstairs to the top. She very quietly bid us good day whilst remaining seated. It was in the middle of the heat wave, our room was the attic room, suffocatingly hot despite windows being open. No air conditioning but I would have thought a fan would have been put in the room knowing weather conditions (our onward hotel provided pedestal fans in their rooms without requesting). This room was in need of decoration, white yet grey walls, stained carpet that looked like a bleach spot from cleaning of ?? Before our evening meal, we sat outside on the edge of the river opposite a small sailing club. This was very peaceful, picturesque. On going back into the hotel we walked around to what in the online pictures looks a lovely veranda with white tables & chairs. I went to sit on a seat to overlook the river but the chair was full of cobwebs. There was another patio with wooden tables & chairs which was ok. We decided to sit inside to eat. The food was ok thankfully. Outside the hotel is short on parking (we warrived about 5pm yet by 7pm they were full.) The village itself is pretty, quaint & quiet

Opening the door to the bedroom was like opening the door of an oven, the heat just hits you in the face. There is a hot pipe running under the floor that heats the bathroom tiles, so the room essentially has underfloor heating in the summer with no aircon, and no fan was offered on arrival. The industrial extractor fan for the kitchen is situated about 1 metre from the small window (the only source or fresh air). It runs all day from about 5:30am and woke me up with a start. I asked for a different room for the 2nd night, and they said they would see what they could do and call me; they never called me. When I got back to the hotel they said they could not change the room but offered me a fan (only after I asked). I only went in the room to change my dress and leave but in that 5 mins I was sweating – the heat in the room was stifling. The room is clearly not fit for guests in the summer, and I suspect would fail a health and safety inspection.

Friendly staff, decent parking, good breakfast, great location to have a drink with lovely views across The Thames. Overall good value and not pretentious. My second visit and probably not my last.

Stay was lovely check in easy except for the friendly man on the desk he was nice but felt the need to tell us all about his life which was nothing to do with us. Plus think you meed lights as you leave main building to go to rooms steps are dangerous as you cant see them.

Lovely old hotel

Such a lovely old hotel. Loved the location and room leading out onto a terrace overlooking the water. Breakfast was nice and freshly cooked. Free parking was a bonus Will definitely stay again.
