Local businesses, cafes and basic services are on State Route 44 in Shingletown; full services, larger grocery stores, medical facilities and restaurants are in Redding about 30–40 minutes west.

Most travel is by private car—the area is car-dependent with narrow local roads and limited shoulders. State Route 44 is the main artery connecting the neighborhood to Redding (west) and Lassen National Park (east). There is minimal local public transit; no commuter rail or major bus hubs in town. Walking and short local drives are typical; high-clearance/4WD not required for paved roads but recommended for forest roads or seasonal conditions.
