Lovely surroundings, not great accommodation

The bedrooms have no windows. The single beds bedroom has a smell of drains. There was a wedding on so the restaurant was not open to us but this was only communicated on arrival when I asked about it. The grounds are lovely with pleasant walks which we really enjoyed .The dishwasher was not working and there was nothing available, eg milk, oil for cooking etc. for a one night stay id expect some basic cooking things. The smoke alarm was running out of battery (beeping in the early morning) and when I spoke to reception it seemed they were already aware this needed doing but it hadn't been done.
