Lots of history. If not the the dog that was left in the room next to us that barked and howled for hrs I would have left a better review. Hope the peopople next door had a ggo night out!

A night at the Queen

The copper queen is there since 1902 and you can see that time had its influence on it. Our room was ok but smelled when we got in, there were stains on the carpet, broken tiles in the bathroom and a toilet pot that was only remaining bolted to the floor. the mattress could use a replacement because it was dented in the middle and we kept rolling there. While this sound all negative we did like our stay & location but probably wouldn’t stat again.

All ads said there was a bar and restaurant - 3 meals - 7 days a week. Both were closed. Opened for continental breakfast this morning- nothing cooked as advertised. If you have mobility issues, the elevator is broken and our room had a free standing tub with a shower ring around it. Be sure to ask about mobility issues if you need accommodations. Lengthy explanation of the $500 fine if you get the floor wet, and $250 if you smoke. This was not welcoming or friendly. Put it in writing to give me, but don’t give me a lecture. The paint is peeling on the moldings, and with a building this old, lead paint is probably an issue. Coffee maker cord doesn’t reach the outlet. And the place was clean- to the point we had to run the fan on the window unit to get rid of the ammonia smells. (And the red light for “change filters” for that system was lit) But the bed and pillows were good. My main complaints are don’t advertise what you don’t provide- elevator, restaurant and bar. We did not get the accommodations we expected for the price.

The hotel itself is historic and very interesting. Elevator was broken and as it’s an old hotel it was noisy. The restaurant was pretty but the staff were young and sweet but service awkward. My meal was terrible and the wine had gone bad. The “saloon” was empty on a Saturday night and they closed very early.

This hotel is a deferred maintenance dump. the shower handle didn't work, the windows were drafty and dirty, the elevator was out of service and had been for months, the front concrete steps were broken and chipped and THE PRE-COOKED PANKS SERVED IN THE DINNING ROOM WERE MOLD. I TOOK ONE TO THE DESK CLERK AND WAS GROSSED OUT BUT NO APOLGETIC. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SKUNK PIT. Parking was very difficult. This Victorian style hotel is a puke pot.

No functioning elevator Extremely cold everywhere! Our server in the dining room had on a ski jacket! Sewer smell coming from the bathroom sink Loose and uneven tiles on the bathroom floor Unable to get seated after waiting 20 minutes for breakfast in an almost empty dining room. Very understaffed! The male server in the ski jacket was the only bright spot….friendly and tried to get everything right.

Grand Old Hotel

Grand old hotel, just an awesome experience staying here. The elevator was broken and staff quickly found us a room on the 2nd floor to minimize stairs. The room was gorgeous. We were very happy here and would definitely stay here again!

We booked through hotels. com. On arrival, we were offered a 4th floor room. Then we were told that the elevator was our of service, Parking at this hotel is non-existent. You park eventually several hundred yards away. Ciimbing to the 4th floor with luggage was terrible The hotel bar and restaurant were closed. "We are open on the weekends". We arrived on Thursday, The room was awful. The air conditioning unit was in a window directly above the bed. The noise was unbelievable. Very hard to control. There is no normal TV. You get a lot of you tube and other internet items. There is no telephone service in the room. Good luck calling the front desk. This is a storied and historic hotel that verges in primitive in terms of service. Overall not worth the money

Basic hotel, a little expensive but you are paying for the history and location. Staff was responsive to needs. Checked in and found water on bathroom floor from slow leak, they immediately switched us to another room with king bed and provided a discount on the cost. Second room was a little cold as they had not started warming it up earlier like they did with the first room. Hotel common areas also a little cold probably due to the unanticipated cold snap. Otherwise a decent stay.
