I have been to this Hostel recently and am happy to have stayed again. In the last few months since I last visited, the work that was going on has been completed and the changes are fantastic, the e check-in/out was simple to use, the new common room/ reception is open and bright and the new code access for the dorms require no card that could be lost. The area is directly in an area with bustling nightlife, filled to the brim with excellent choices for food and drink. The area is loud, but the dorm areas were relatively quiet, all but the lightest sleepers will have no issues dosing of in the comfortable beds. I did have issues using and getting the code to my rooms safe, but the staff were able to to help me, remember to check you have both the dorm code, your safe code AND how to operate it. Would definitely recommend here if you want something cheap and cheerful!

Although there were renovations of a neighboring business ongoing during my stay, the noise did not occur during quiet hours and the rooms were spacious and comfortable, with restaurants, bars and shopping barely a stone throws away in the lively surroundings of the China town district.

Horrible hostel! Zero customer service. I still to this day have not spoken wi to anyone from Hipster or Hotels.com. Dirty and gross rooms. Absolutely terrible.

Dirty beddings

Very dirty beddings and washrooms. We found layers and layers of different people’s hair on our beddings. It was in a good location if you are fun loving and if you enjoy going out at night for a drink and a bite.

The air conditioning is ONLY in the sleeping area, not the shower/bathroom area. It is barely cold enough, and when you shut your curtain to keep out the light at night, you block the AC from reaching your bed area. There is one toilet for the floor of around ten people, and two showers which open directly into shared area so nowhere to change. People did not respect the quiet hours during the weekend and continued to talk at points late in the night.

They vacune my bed side with me sleeping , no respect I complain and they just say sorry , there was bed bugs and the surrounding area is full of bars and is noisy and dirty , the a/c is working on a very limited capacity and gets hot inside

This place is okay. If you’re looking for just a bed to sleep in it’s alright. The bed is not comfortable and the bathroom had no ac . It was so unbearably hot in the bathroom you couldn’t be in there for more than 2 minutes without dripping sweat. Our room ac wasn’t on when we arrived so the room was just as hot , thankfully the unit started to cool the room off by the time we went to sleep but the bathroom remained a sauna . The area is decent, walkable to clarke quay, metro, and some cute waterfront restaurants nearby. The staff were nice just didn’t have anyone at the desk most of the time.
