It is located away from the hustle and bustle of Orchard Blvd but also conveniently located on the TEL line on MRT. From the hotel it is just a 2-minute walk to the MRT station, mostly with covering so no worries on rainy days. The Tanglin Mall abutting the hotel has a few restaurant options and a nice supermarket. I like that the mall is not touristy with pricey brand name stores. The bathroom is smaller than expected but I would stay there again.

Great Buffet, but otherwise pretty expensive (beer AUS $26). Rooms are clean and nicely styled. The area, while very luxurious, clean, and secure, lacks the occasional "street shop"; it only has a very expensive shopping mall connected to the hotel with expensive restaurants and very high-priced groceries.
