The Artemis hotel is a truly special place - recently and beautifully renovated, nestled in lush gardens and right on the seashore - you can go from bedroom to beach in just 20 steps or less. Its tranquil setting with a private beach at the end of the bay from Makry Gialos, makes it feel secluded whilst still being a short walk from the harbour with its tavernas and cafes. The room we were in had a lovely view over the gardens and beach, and a balcony to enjoy the sunset from. Staff were all wonderful and we were received with warm and generous hospitality from the moment we arrived. They were especially helpful in assisting us with the Heraklion transfer. The Kima restaurant is also a lovely spot for a delicious meal while getting amazing views of the sunset across the bay. Try the Octopus! Thank you to all the Artemis staff for such an enjoyable holiday - we would love to come back.
