We stayed for a week at Emily and Casey's Cross Trail Vacation Getaway. It was the first time we have visited Sitka and a perfect location for anyone interested in sightseeing, fishing, or hiking the nearby Indian River trail or any of Sitka’s many trail networks. The house has everything necessary to enjoy your time. We hiked quite a few of the trails near the city and they were all challenging and awe inspiring. Our favorite walk was the Herring Cove Trail, where the trail hugs a crystal-clear stream fed by meltwater as you make your way up the mountainside through huge spruce, hemlock, and cedar trees. We were not used to the constant daylight of Sitka during the summer months. So, the blackout shades Emily and Casey had in the bedroom were appreciated. We were usually too tired to watch much television. But Emily and Casey have multiple streaming services visitors can tap into to unwind. The location is quiet, and the views of the nearby mountains were spectacular as well.
