Disliked: Cleanliness, communication, listing accuracy
I booked this property through Expedia expecting the accommodation shown in the listing. Unfortunately, the apartment we received was materially different from what was advertised.
The listing created the impression of views towards the seafront promenade and Arnold Palmer's Putting Course, but instead our apartment overlooked an enormous overflowing skip. The property was described as a "Well-Appointed Flat" with "modern amenities", "facilities to meet the needs of our guests" and "high standards of cleanliness and service". Our experience was the opposite.
The kitchen was poorly equipped, with only two drinking glasses despite the apartment sleeping six, and there were no sharp knives, chopping board, kitchen scissors or tea towel. The fridge failed to keep food cold even on its highest setting. There were also numerous maintenance issues, including broken light bulbs, a broken shower door handle, broken toilet roll holder and a broken window pane.
Cleanliness was unacceptable. Walking barefoot left the soles of our feet black, and we also encountered what appeared to be a flea or bed bug problem.
Most disappointing was the response to our complaint. Despite providing evidence, our refund request was rejected without any meaningful explanation. Based on our experience, this property did not match its description or photographs, and I would not recommend it.
