If you are looking for a great place to stay with your family then look no further! This is the best place to stay, and our family has stayed at a variety of places. Interesting enough it is much like Goldilocks- not just right. But the Pelican was JUST RIGHT. It is beautiful, having a view of the ocean waves from the family room and also the master bedroom. Not to mention the back patio was large and spacious. Many of us sat in the sunshine outback and actually had a visitor from a wild bunny rabbit! Our family settled on this location and I am glad we did. Not only does this home have private beach access so you can spend more time on the ocean that driving to one but it is a 10min drive up the road from the brookings harbor if you want to have a lunch and many of the sight seeing locations such as the natural bridge. With most locations you don't get to spend a lot of time enjoying the home because you are busy going out to see things- this was not the case at this location. I was thrilled to be able to enjoy the home and have such quick access to the beach. One of our many pet peeves in the past for staying at places was the living room not being comfortable for the older family members - again this place is just perfect. The couch my elders sat on was comfortable and it made visiting pleasant. I am beyond grateful that our family was able to spend time together in the living room and enjoy the beautiful views. This is a place I will most definitely be returning to again.

Was absolutely gorgeous weather to sit on the back patio and soak in the sun while seeing and hearing the waves! You can hear them with the doors and windows open from inside the home!

It was a lovely location, great beach and comfortable home with an excellent covered porch with a view. My only complaint was opening the dishwasher door and having it crash onto my foot because the spring for the door is broken. Ouch!

We had a great family vacation at the pelican house. There were a few minor issues we encountered, but with the help of Shannon and her staff, everything was addressed promptly and professionally. The access to the beach was great and enjoyed by all.

We were very pleased with this property. It was extremely well maintained. Plenty of "extras" were provided. Very quiet. My grown daughters and grown granddaughter loved walking the beach area. We all enjoyed using the grill for burgers and hot dogs one day. Plenty of chairs, sofas, blankets, etc.

Beautiful setting; easy access to beach; quiet neighborhood; plenty of room inside and out. Kitchen well equipped. Barbeque in good shape w/enough fuel. Plenty of parking onsite. One suggestion is to provide additional rolls of paper towels for kitchen, and boxes of tissue for the bathrooms. There was enough toilet paper.

Wonderful location for the beach. I do wish owners could consider higher quality of pots and pans and the spatulas. But, sadly, people steal. We ate in all but 1 night. We enjoyed our time. Plenty of towels and games and books.

It was a very comfortable house with an amazing view and you could hear the ocean waves from the house. The host was wonderful and very responsive when we couldn’t open the door. The path to the beach was short and sweet and even my elderly in-laws could make the walk. We will definitely try to visit again!

Gets better every stay

This is our 3rd time to this rental and they just keep improving an already awesome place to stay. Lots of nice new upgrades since our last stay but still has the same beautiful ocean views and sounds. Easy checkin, easy stay, easy checkout...thanks for a wonderful experience.

Wonderful way to wrap up 2024 Summer!

We go every year with our families to the oregon coast at labor day. This houses access to the beach was amazing! Super easy check in and check out. Shannon the host was super accommodating and very easy and responsive to work with. Definitely a must rent for VRBO if you’re looking for a clean, nice, safe place to stay.

5 picture perfect days/nights at the Pelican. Very well-appointed house & well-equipped kitchen. Great location - we enjoyed walks on the beautiful expansive beach, visiting the J Smith redwoods, and 9 holes at Del Norte. Nice dinner out @ Black Trumpet Bistro in Brookings & fresh fish from Pacific Ocean Harvesters in Harbor for grilling at home. Fell into THE most comfortable beds ever after fun-filled days. Love the Pelican!

This is our second time staying at the Pelican and it was even better this time. It's clear the property owner and host have put a little love into the home with an updated master bath, linens, and an outdoor shower! The location is perfect, the beach access is super easy, and the home was clean. We had a great time, and will definitely come back again soon.

Spring break

The property was very nice and the master bedroom was gorgeous. The only problem we had was the listing online said there would be a hot tub and there wasn’t a hot tub on the property, so yes the kids and family was bummed out because it was one of the two main reasons we picked the rental. I talked with the owner about it and they offered to help us find a new property if it was going to be a deal breaker , but who can find a new rental when you have to find these Vrbo a month or more out for the days you want ? Anyways all I asked was for them to take the hot tub info offline so that nobody else is looking for a rental with a hot tub and shows up to be bummed out about the hot tub like we where . Other then that it was a great location and beautiful views

Just About Perfect

My whole family loved our stay in this house. Perfectly situated between water and woods. So clean, updated and modern, well-stocked and organized. The little gift basket with snacks was so welcoming! I only wish the master bedroom had windows that could be opened at night instead of a door. Or maybe put a screen on the door? The water was so easily accessible, I would have my morning coffee on the beach!
