A secluded wooded setting in Ohio's Hocking Hills, with views enjoyed from the wrap-around deck, the hot-tub or the wall of windows along the open-concept, vaulted, living area. The massive chimney is made of local river rocks. Queen bedroom on main floor and a queen bed in loft. (Loft is accessed by a rustic-styled ladder – which is fun for some of us, but not recommended for guests with physical limitations or for children.) Wood-burning fireplace and charcoal grill. Satellite tv and DVD player. But no Wi-Fi available at this location. Also, mobile-phone coverage is spotty – so use your car’s GPS. (There is a land-line phone.)

Wonderful couple of days over Thanksgiving. Hosts were very proactive and easy to get hold of. Place was exactly as represented. Didn't get to enjoy the hot tub or much down time on this trip as it was a family Thanksgiving get together that was very busy. Would definitely come back for a long weekend (or longer!) and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

It was nice. I do think it should be noted that the loft area steps are steep. Not suitable for littles. But cozy for a little older children. We had our 9 and 11 year old ans they thought it was amazing having their own space up there.

The cabin was beautiful and secluded. Perfect for a weekend getaway. The loft bedroom is the shining jewel in my opinion because of the view, but being a loft, it may not be suited for people with mobility issues as the stairs to enter are steep. The wood burning fireplace does cause a smell to the cabin that, to me, was somewhat undesirable, but it is a normal smell for a room with a wood burning fireplace. Some time with the windows open cleared it out. Over all, we loved the cabin and would highly recommend!

We stayed for Labor Day weekend. It was a nice quant cabin that was perfect for our family of 4. Everything was ready when we arrived and it was super easy getting to and in the cabin. The location was great as it was close to most of the hiking trails. We loved the hot tub and firepit.

Property and cabin was very nice, clean, and had a beautiful secluded view in the forest. Everything we may have needed was there, though we did bring our own paper towels, knowing ahead of time they wouldn’t be provided. The only downside was a warm loft bedroom. The ceiling fan in the living area helped some, but a floor fan or something of the sort placed in the loft would have helped. There are no a/c vents up to the loft. I would have given it 5 stars if it weren’t for that. It was well worth the trip and price though regardless.

Beautiful Hide out in the Hills

We arrived at night but the cabin was easy to find. The kitchen had everything we needed as far as utensils and cookware. We were within minutes of Ash Cave and Old Man’s cave. Even on a rainy day we enjoyed the hot tub and the cozy cabin feel with Pizza from Papa Dino’s. Enjoyed a small cookout and bon fire. My only suggestion is to add more seating to the campfire area. We had a wonderful experience overall and will definitely be returning to Hocking Hills and The Chalets!

Great cabin, but a little bit further than I thought

The overall stay was great! Comfortable bed, great hot tub, super clean and nice cabin!The only thing that wasn't clear in the listing was that the main office was pretty far away from the actual cabin address, this made planning travel times between the trails and cabin beforehand not accurate. We got the actual cabin address the day of the stay, it would've been nice to have a better idea of the cabin location a day or two earlier for better planning. For example we thought Kroger was only three minutes from the cabin, but in reality it was three minutes from the main office and 20 minutes away from our cabin. It all worked out in the end though.

We really enjoyed our time at the Elk. It is a beautiful little cabin with everything you need. It has A/C, not mentioned in the description. The online pictures are accurate but being there in person is even better.

The Elk Hocking Hills

The cabin was cute and very convenient to the Hocking Hills attractions. We loved that it was very secluded and the "right size" for the three adults. The only thing that could be more clear is that nothing is supplied except the bare minimum. We had to go buy paper towels and coffee filters. Also, it may already be listed, but the coffee maker is not a Keurig. We had to go buy regular ground coffee.

We camped three years ago and this was a last minute trip. Super easy to book and the place was perfect for just the two of us. Close to trails. Plenty of towels and toilet paper. Hot tub was a nice addition.

Wonderful property set in the woods. Private, quite just what we were hoping for. Unavoidable issue with our cabin was met with incredibly quick response by staff and maintenance. Wonderful stay, wonderful staff.

We will be back!

We loved this cabin! We were impressed with how clean & new everything was! The upstairs bedroom loft with the view was awesome. We only left it to enjoy the hot tub, build a fire & check out the huge back deck. We plan to return in the spring when we can stay longer. We did appreciate how private the space was & yet you’re not secluded & we had phone service the whole weekend. Great getaway!

Great cabin
