We really enjoyed our Spring Break at this Resort. The staff was awesome and the rooms were clean. I was a little skeptical at first because of some recent reviews about “humid” “damp” conditions of the hotel it it wasn’t something that we noticed or caused us any inconvenience. The amenities were great even though we didn’t get to use them all because of all the activities we had to do.

Friendly, wonderful stay

We stayed at the hotel for a week as a family. My daughter and son-in law had their 4 month old and I stayed with my 18 year old son. The building is in need of improvement and they are making changes. The outside is looking worn and weathered. I had a pool view room and watched every morning as the workers cleaned the pools and the yard around the buildings. Nancy, Violet and one other very nice lady (who I forgot to get her name) were all so very pleasant each morning at breakfast! This was some of the best "hotel" food I've ever had! Fresh delicious fruit every morning. There wasn't a buffet during the week, we order from their menu which meant no one else has coughed or spit on your food!!! We stayed the week before spring break and would do it again. We had no issues with staff or our rooms. Everyone was friendly and accommodating even when my son lost his room key almost every day. I had my service dog with me and there were no issues with his stay at all! They asked the appropriate questions to make sure he wasn't an emotional support animal or just a pet. I not only would stay again but I've recommended this resort to other friends looking for a nice place to take their family and enjoy the beach!

The heated pool, needs to be retiled, so many tiles missing, and some even floating around in the pool. The music the DJ had was too loud, it was mostly families there the days I went, they just need to keep that in mind, who is there at the moment. Many security guards, due to spring break, which is good, and staff is nice. I didn’t like we had to make a line in the front desk to get the towels, that wasted much time for us. Rooms are clean, AC worked well, beach access is nice, RRs by the beach need work, but overall, we had a good time.

The property was nice. The oceanview room had been remodeled in a really cute way, and it was very clean. Front desk service was great. The exterior building looks rough due to rust from the air conditioners, but not much can be done about that. My only complaint is not being told about the very loud parties going on from 8pm to 2am! Yes, I expected noise due to spring break, but they had about 25 cops anticipating who-knows-what. The music spewed out F bombs every other word. Skanky girls were grinding their butts together. This was at 8:30pm as we took our young daughter back to the room. There was no way to shelter her from the vulgarities. The hotel did not warn us this event would be taking place when we booked. This party was repeated for all 3 nights from 8pm to 2am. The whole room vibrated from the music. In the morning, a guest was passed out in front of the door. I might come back, but definitely not during spring break. And I'm incredibly disappointed we were not warned. Shame on Holiday Inn, a family chain.

Really enjoyed our trip to South Padre. Hotel room was lovely - an ocean view king room. The service wasn’t great, but also not terrible…. Just nonexistent really. Asking for information wasn’t met with many answers, so we stopped asking. The breakfast included option was our way to go, quite yummy. Did not eat other meals there. Location of the hotel was prime for us. Parking could be a little tricky and lots become full by sundown, so walking a distance can happen.
