I was pretty impressed with the hotel overall. Food was solid. Pool was nice, though we couldn’t find beach chairs and the pool towels were tattered. Valet was easy, though I had to go find someone to tell them we’re trying to check in and valet. Beach access was perfect! Views were amazing. My biggest issue was the fire alarm/carbon monoxide detector going off and no one answering my calls to the front desk. Then when I tried to tell the hotel at checkout, they dismissed me and handed me my bill. That makes me cautious to go back.

I’ve stayed at this hotel several times. The condos are good but the individual rooms are not. The humidity is outrageous. When I told the front desk about it they tried to say “oh that’s how it is at the Island.” You are correct that the Island is very humid but the inside of your room should not. It felt so uncomfortable sleeping that we checked out very early the next day and didn’t care to sleep in. When this place was the Pearl, it was the same thing which is why my family and self stopped staying there. Ultimately why a lot of people did. For what we pay, you all need to get the humidity inside the rooms controlled. I’ve stayed here about 4-5 times within the last year and unfortunately I think this was my last.

What I liked about the property was it being near the ocean. I liked the room, especially the bed. It was very comfortable. What I dislike was the front desk staff. I told them twice the telephone and safe in the room didn't work. And they never fixed any of the items, the entire time we were there. Needless to say, we want be going back. One time experience was good enough for us.

An uncomfortable stay

The hotel has a moisture control issue. As such you have to sign a form that you will keep the room at a certain temperature. The room was very cold. And when you turn the temperature up the floors became dangerously slippery. Our clothes and paper articles remained damp throughout our trip. No daily room service to replace the wet towels or change the linen. Very uncomfortable stay

loved the pool, good drinks at bar, good pastries at coffee shop didn't like restrictions on ac in room everything feels damp in room, might need new ventilation didn't like that you have to pay for beach chairs

Great trip!

This was a great trip SPI. The resort was very nice and had everything you need to spend the day there from food, beverages, pool and ocean to relax at. The only thing that could be better is if there was a microwave somewhere on the resort to heat stuff up. Highly recommend the stay.
