Overall, the hotel is newer and fresh feeling, but the pillows (every single one of the 10 we had in our suite) could not have been worse!! Old. Flat. No fluff. Switch the pillows and it’s a perfect place to stay close to everything in St. Louis!

It could be better, little changes.

A couple of things that were concerning. I travel weekly and Element has a pretty high standard. It felt like a scam forcing everyone to pay for valet parking when there is a free parking lot across the street and behind the building. It truly felt like the valet and the front desk were working a scam together to force people to pay $29 a day. The shower did not have any shelfs or hanging shower caddy to place your items, had to put them on the nasty shower floor. I placed the magnetic 'no need for room service' outside on the door but it was removed. I do not like anyone enter my room, but this happened every night. Although I appreciate it, it was just not needed. Your staff has to work harder then needed, either they took the magnets off themselves or someone went around and stole them, but you need to make sure each room has one, you could save a lot of time and money on folks like myself who do not need room service daily. I am also a very big food delivery orderer and the drivers should be given a key to take the food up to the rooms and not have the patrons come downstairs to get it, inconvenient. It was not a smoke free property, numerous patrons were on the back patio smoking marijuanna and cigarrettes. Just not what you want if you have a family, great patio area but you get swamped with smoke smell when you walk outside.

We got there around 5pm and our room wasn’t ready, when we got to the room is was not what we booked, we booked a suite that was supposed to have 2 double beds and a double sleeper sofa, there was no sofa just a chair that didn’t make a bed, we called the front desk and asked about it they said they didn’t have any more rooms to switch and offered an air mattress, we booked 3 months prior we should have got the room we booked and paid for.
