I really enjoyed my stay at the Duke of Normandie Hotel. The staff were friendly, the room was spotless and comfortable and the location is ideal - close to the harbour, shops and restaurants. Breakfast was fresh and tasty each morning. A great choice for a short break in Guernsey.

Great place and very central to town.

Stayed in the cottage and it was fantastic. I would say the only downside was the water pressure for the shower or filling a bath. But it would put me off booking again.

Our stay at The Duke of Normandie was very pleasant, right in the centre of town with easy access to bars and restaurants etc. The room, food, bar and especially the staff exceeded our expectations. We will definitely consider it for our next trip to Guernsey. Only slight negative was the parking, very limited so had to find alternative parking and walk one night which can be tricky in town.

Overall excellent but a few small issues

Great quiet location. Overall we had a very good stay. Very clean although room service isn’t until late afternoon which was a little strange. The shower trap is uncovered too. Eat in the restaurant 3 times for dinner and found it excellent. We only had breakfast one and thought it expensive for the choices available and a poor selection of continental which didn’t seem to get refilled. The team members are amazing and do a great job. Expensive for a bottle of water at £5.60.

Disappointing Stay, Needs Improvement

I recently stayed at this hotel for work and unfortunately, my experience was less than satisfactory. The room itself was decent, though it could have been cleaner. The bed was comfortable, which was a plus, but several other issues impacted my stay. The most concerning part was when a staff member from G4S walked into my room without knocking or introducing himself. He just started looking around. I was taken aback and, when he returned while I was on a conference call, I had to ask him to leave as it was disruptive. His response was to huff, slam the door, and walk off. I informed the receptionist about this, and the only response I got was, "Oh, that shouldn’t happen, sorry!"—which felt like a very dismissive response to a serious issue. Then, there was breakfast. The quality was poor, and the service wasn’t much better. What really frustrated me was the unexpected charge for a white coffee—£3.50—when black coffee was included with breakfast. There was no mention of additional charges for any other drinks, either on the menu or by the staff. It felt deceptive, and certainly not what I expect from a hotel that claims to include breakfast. Overall, this stay felt like the hotel did not prioritize customer satisfaction. As someone who travels frequently for work, this was definitely one of my more disappointing experiences. I hope management takes these issues seriously and improves both customer service and communica

A warm welcome that's personable and friendly

This was my 5th stay at the Duke of Normandie, The welcome is always so personable and friendly. The the food and bar here is also very good. The rooms are finished to a high standard and I could not recommend this hotel enough for a great, friendly and central place to stay on this beautiful Island.
