Just a little bit of tweaking needed.

Let’s start with the pros. Great service and seemed like happy employees. Great breakfast items and tons of room for guests. Never felt rushed at all and it was quite enjoyable. Rooms are nice. Beds are pretty firm. The two room queen bedrooms are nice with separate bathrooms. The bathrooms only have showers. Now for the cons. Being an older building there are some quirks to it. Also the room we had was not the cleanest. Cobwebs in areas and the fridge did not work. It had been sitting there for quite awhile like that. Water all over in it from apparently the freezer defrosting. It was very musty smelling and had someone else’s hair in it. A very easy thing to fix. We found out the hard way at about 10:00pm with leftovers from dinner. We had to throw them out because the fudge not working and I didn’t want to make a fuss at that time of night. So I did not mention it until we left a few days later. Also parking is a bit tricky. They have a lot across the street. It is a one way in and out. So if you arrive late and pull in you will have to back out of it. We got in late every night so we had to park over on the next block. There no street lights so it is very dark but we did not have any issues with people or crime. The last issue is this is next to a couple very busy roads. So you get a lot of loud exhaust and music at different times during the night. I believe I would stay here again. This is a cute place and with a couple little tweaks it could be a special place.

Somewhat underwhelming compared to reviews

Was underwhelmed by the welcome i received as so many reviews had mentioned the friendliness of staff. I was kept waiting without apparent reason and not spoken to until i "interrupted" the paper shuffling. My room leaked and i received no follow-up when i reported this. So a bucket with a towel in it shared the room with me all week. House keeping clearly thought this meant i didnt need replacement towels for a few days. The carpet was not vaccumed while i was there. Breakfast was adequate but not in keeping with how much was being charged. The breakfast staff were helpful and nice. I got the impression the hotel was luving off past glories. But it was nice and quiet with good parking.

This property is wonderful! The staff, breakfast, and stay were all lovely! I highly recommend staying here. Only 1ish mile from the beach but the hotel had a nice pool as well!

The historic features were great. There is a veranda you can sit on, to enjoy the evening. There are many attractions and excellent food choices nearby. All the staff were pleasant. The breakfast buffet was unusually well supplied with many choices, including fresh cooked eggs. A relaxed feeling and well appointed rooms.

Only one of our rooms was larger. We thought both rooms would be upgraded with the VIP benefit. Breakfast very nice with fresh fruit. Lovely staff. Clean but tired rooms, old furniture and carpeting. Musty smell when entering room. Nice that the building is historic but the whole interior needs refreshing and renovation. I noticed first floor rooms had no carpet and looked much better. Would recommend because of service and bkfst but with some hesitation because of the rooms. We chose because of price on busy weekend but it is 20 min from waterfront.
