Clean update place, great view

We had a brief one night stay and this space provided us great comfort and a wonderful view at an affordable price. There is a pool and deck/sitting area on the property and a restaurant. If we had stayed longer we would have definitely tried it out. While the room was perfect and in excellent condition, the outside steps leading to the upper units are a little sketchy and the overhang above our door, room 333, appears as though it may fall at any time. The management was made aware of this and it was noted to be a known issue. Speaking of the management, both the daytime and second shift attendant were both lovely and very accommodating. Bonus that there is a legit coffee shop on the property (liken it to S*bucks) that we got great lattes from and fresh breakfast sandwiches made to order. If we ever stay on St Thomas multiple nights, we would definitely come back.

We needed only one night and knew that we would be arriving into St. Thomas really late. We've eaten at Root 42, the restaurant on the grounds, several times, and we really like the idea of being at a hotel where we could arrive in the evening and either sit down for a meal, or get takeout. We had never stayed at the hotel before and many of the reviews noted that there are many stairs. My husband has mobility problems. Nevertheless, I wanted to find out if there might be a room that did not have a lot of stairs to climb. I called the hotel directly and spoke with Wanda. She said most rooms did have a lot of stairs and were not close to the parking area. However, she suggested that I go on and reserve and that she would keep an eye out for my reservation. Sure enough, when the day came, Wanda was right on top of it and arranged for a room where we could park only a a few steps from the door.and no stairs. Another plus that we found and had not known about, was that the little coffee shop, the Northside Grind is charming, makes all sorts of breakfast sandwiches to order, as well as smoothies and various coffees, and there is a very pleasant small and quiet seating area outside. They are open until 2:30 PM. There are few restaurants we could find in St. Thomas that serve breakfast after 10AM on weekdays, so this will be our definite go to, when we feel like a late breakfast.

Good times

My overall experience was great. The receptionist was great with communication and the property looked just like it was advertised. The property is a good 7min walk down hill from their property. The food from restaurant 42 was not that good. I will still book again.

We stayed at this hotel for six nights and overall had a pleasant experience. The location is stunning, surrounded by nature with gorgeous views. Our room was spacious with a breathtaking view of Magens Bay and the mountains. The property is charming, and my kids loved watching the chickens and cats roaming around. We also enjoyed the tennis courts, which are lighted at night—perfect for evening games. However, be aware you’ll need to bring your own rackets and balls, as the hotel doesn’t provide any and there’s no nearby store to purchase them. The on-site café was fantastic, and we visited every morning. The restaurant served good food, though the service was very slow. While the hotel is near the beach, it’s not walking distance for families with kids. There were a few downsides. One night, a major leak occurred in the TV area during rain. Although staff came quickly to clean it up (I had to contact them), it was inconvenient. Additionally, there was no room service throughout our stay. We had to take out our own trash and visit reception for essentials like shampoo, towels, toilet paper and bedding. Despite these issues, the hotel’s natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere made it a relaxing getaway. With improvements to service and maintenance, this place could be truly amazing.

Place really surprised me how good it was. Coffee shop and staff was amazing and super friendly. Food at restaurant root 42 was really good. Staff was somewhat friendly. Room was nice. Loved the ac unit above the bed. I just wish they had staff on hand later at night. Locked my key card in room and had to climb on roof and jump on my balcony to get in.

A Wonderful Stay!

Staying at the Flamboyan was honestly one of the highlights of our trip to St. John/St. Thomas. The property is very nicely set up with amazing rooms, clean pools, a nice restaurant/bar, and stellar views of Magens Bay. Both pools are very clean with the top pool being well located near the rooms and bar/restaurant area. We did notice the hot tub near the lower pool was not working and was only about 85 degrees. Not a major issue at all but would be an incredible feature if working properly. Second, the rooms are incredible. Our room was perfect for our family of 4. The vaulted ceilings on the 300 units make the rooms so big and there's even a spiral staircase that brings you to an extra bedroom. Units are basically a 2 bed (queens) with a large living room area. The unit also had a mini kitchen area with a hot plate burner that allowed us to cook a simple meal right in the room. Off the back of the unit was a good size private balcony that provided a perfect view of Magens Bay. The room was so comfortable we felt we could have stayed a week and had no issue on space. Third, the property is very cool and has the exact type of island vibe we were looking for after staying at more corporate places on our trip. There is an onsite coffee shop which is really nice, and the property has mature trees/tropical plants spread throughout. The starfruit tree near the lower pool was aw inspiring! This place is great option and one we will certain be returning to!
