It is their policy to not turn on the air conditioners prior to occupancy. It was 100 degrees outside. We walked in to a room that was hot, stuffy and smelly. On the positive side, excellent, friendly and professional desk clerk and very convenient parking.

This is an older hotel and shows its age in several ways - the elevator works but is a bit eccentric! It is an excellent bargain - clean, comfortable, good neighborhood, free parking lot, good continental breakfast. It’s a pleasant 20 minute walk to downtown and many restaurants (we liked Remo’s). We stayed there twice on a recent trip and expect to stay there again when we stop in Stamford.

Staying at the Amsterdam

We stay here every time we visit Connecticut. It’s close to my brother’s rehab facility and the staff is very friendly. However the beds were not comfortable this time. A little bit too hard for me.
