- The upper deck features the mountain-view hot tub, two comfortable lounge areas, and a screened porch with covered dining for 20 and a gas grill.
- The lower patio is home to the panoramic barrel sauna, a plunge tub that can be enjoyed hot or cold, cornhole, and ladder ball.
- Just off the driveway, a gas firepit with ample seating creates another gathering space. Propane is provided.
- The children’s playground is positioned nearby, with Adirondack chairs where adults can relax while keeping an eye on younger guests.
MAIN LEVEL
- The dramatic great room features soaring post-and-beam architecture, a wood-burning fireplace, a large smart TV, generous seating, and a full wall of windows framing the mountain view.
- The fully equipped gourmet kitchen includes an oversized island, stainless steel appliances, two sinks, a large pantry, and bar seating for four. A sunny breakfast area offers a round table for six and beautiful views.
- Open to the kitchen, the main dining area seats 12.
- Bedroom 1 — Primary king ensuite: The spacious primary suite includes a wood-burning fireplace, sitting area with smart TV, and direct deck access. Its ensuite bathroom features dual vanities, an oversized tiled shower with a rainfall showerhead, and a soaking tub overlooking the mountains.
- An additional room adjoining the primary suite can serve as a nursery or as a getting-ready room with four individual vanity stations.
- Bedroom 2 — King ensuite: This bedroom includes an ensuite bathroom with dual vanities and an oversized tiled shower.
- A powder room is located just off the great room.

Pocosan Lodge is an especially comfortable home base for wedding weekends, family reunions, milestone celebrations, and multi-family trips. A separate room adjoining the primary suite can serve as a nursery or a getting-ready room with four vanity stations. Please note that the property is offered as overnight lodging; events and parties are not permitted.

Guest access:
Guests enjoy private access to the home and its guest amenities during their stay, including the hot tub, sauna, cold plunge, theater, game and entertainment spaces, gym, playground, decks, screened porch, firepit area, and guest parking. Any clearly marked owner, housekeeping, or mechanical storage areas are not included in guest access.

Skyline Drive and Shenandoah trailheads are approximately 20 minutes away, with access to waterfalls, overlooks, and celebrated hikes throughout the park. Iconic Old Rag makes a memorable day trip for experienced hikers with the appropriate reservation and preparation.
Stanardsville is about 13 minutes away for groceries and local essentials. The area's wineries and breweries are generally within a 15- to 30-minute drive, making the lodge a natural home base for wine-country weekends. Charlottesville is approximately 40 minutes away, with dining, shopping, the University of Virginia, and Thomas Jefferson's Monticello.
The lodge is approximately 2 hours from Washington, DC, and 1 hour 45 minutes from Richmond, making it feel wonderfully remote without requiring a full day of travel.
Getting around:
A car is necessary for reaching Pocosan Lodge and exploring the surrounding area. Guests should expect rural and mountain roads and should follow the arrival directions supplied before check-in rather than relying only on a map app. There is a mile of unpaved gravel road which leads to the paved driveway. Plan extra travel time after dark or during winter weather.
