I'm so glad that we found this cabin! The number one thing to know: Be sure to have a vehicle that can climb, because this neighborhood is steep. We were glad to have brought a 4x4 truck rather than a small car. I had messaged the property owner a couple of times before arriving, and they were very quick to answer and very pleasant. That means a lot. The property is conveniently located in Slade, very close to all things Red River Gorge. We opted to stay in the ground level bedroom, because the steps upstairs are narrow and best set up for kiddos. The ceiling is low in that room, with cute little rockers and a TV, perfect for little ones. There's one bathroom, also downstairs, fully stocked with towels and toiletries. We cooked in the kitchen every day and used the washer and dryer to the fullest. They have pots, pans, utensils, plates, and bowls. Make sure that you bring Saran Wrap, foil, and a hairdryer, as those were items that I was glad to have brought. If you have a mobility-challenged companion, be aware that there are about 10 steps to get to the main entrance. The hot tub was terrific. Clean, hot, private, and easy to take the cover off of. The Wi-Fi was great and they had every streaming service that we looked at. It had all of the comforts of home. We've recommended this location to friends and intend to come back as soon as we can.

Great location & Comfy Cabin
Cabin is lovely and good set up for 4 people. Neatly decorated, plenty of tools for grilling, quiet setting, great fire pit area and parking, close to kayaking/ hiking/ firewood pick up, local attractions/ restaurants and go visits the goats when you pick up your wood before entering street to cabin! Downfalls- 1 mirror in whole house with little space for any personal toiletries in 1 small bathroom. Pans are not non stick and limited tools for indoor cooking. Suggested to host to pick up rubber/wooden cooking utensils for inside cooking and to put mirrors in bedrooms for everyone to get ready in a timely matter. Great place to stay and would again. Secluded and private property but close to wear you need to go. Book it.

Lack of attention to detail was disappointing
Layout, location, and ease of access were all good. There were a number of disappointments though. Prime Video access on TV was locked so we couldn’t use our account. Fireplace isn’t really a fireplace, just a box with a light. Fireplace remote didn’t work. Laundry dryer’s bearings are shot so running dryer sounds like bricks rolling around. Kitchen has one wine glass, one rocks glass; not ideal for a place that sleeps 4. Host company boasts a text service to address issues, but nobody responds. Lastly, deck and steps covered with 6-8” of snow and ice; quite dangerous. Fell once on the stairs. No snow shovel. Had fun stay, won’t use this company again.

We loved staying at Beary Secluded. It was a perfect place for a little get away. Hot tub was great, house was clean and beautiful. Water pressure was great. Upstairs TV in bedroom had a bad connection so did not work, couch was a bit sinky, beds were comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

Great location/ cabin not fully as pictured
We had a great time at RRG! Unfortunately had a few bumps with the cabin. If we visit the area again, we would likely stay elsewhere due to a few issues and there are so many cabin rentals in the area. Here’s our pros and cons as a family of 4 (2 kids; 5/8)
Pros:
1) great location! Super close to the natural bridge, nada tunnel, putt putt and petting zoo and more.
2.) good size cabin for our family, hot tub worked great, thermostat was great, kitchen function was great (used fridge, oven and toaster)
Cons:
1. Bathroom wasn’t as pictured- no glass door as pictured on Vrbo (curtain)& moldy in light fixture and caulking- very “icky”.
2. Tv upstairs did not work
3. No blinds on exterior door on main level bedroom (kids room). Blinds were featured on Vrbo, but not when we arrived- which is concerning for a kids room.
4. We got locked out due to low battery. There was not an immediate fix option, but it was repaired within the hour. Unfortunately my daughter had forgotten her jacket and we went back to get her jacket when we realized we were locked out, which made for a chilly hike.
5. Overall, the pictures on Vrbo look to be outdated as items in the cabin were worn. I heavily rely on pictures for my bookings, so I was a bit disappointed with this listing as the pictures did not match my expectation. However, the management company was responsive and offered repairs for mentioned items. It didn’t ruin our trip- but I’d try a new cabin next trip.

Cozy
We had a great time, the management company were so helpful for check in and check out process. As for the property, it is cozy and nice cabin. I should say the road toward the cabin was curvy and if you are traveling during winter season consider to either have 4wheel drive or tire chain for snowny days.
The shower needs an upgrade as we noticed some mold spots on the walls. The mattresses also need upgrade. Overall we enjoyed our stay. We stayed in newer cabins in Red River Gorge with better price during COVID so I think the price was higher. Also there were no blow dryer in the cabin.

Fall school break
Property is not well maintained. No window shades on some windows, no shades on any doors. Some shades in disrepair. Bedroom tv did not work most of trip. Maintenance came and identified it as a short in the chord, but we were informed that they were currently out of replacement chords. So adults had to share only tv with 9yo. Hot tub lights didn’t work. Light sconces missing( just light bulbs). Shower was usable but looked like repair had been started and not finished. We were without power for nearly 40 minutes while I was trying to cook breakfast. Just wasn’t what we were hoping for. I am a retired firefighter. I don’t often splurge with money, because I don’t have it spend. If I am going to spend that much money ( that’s a lot for me) I would expect it to be a little nicer.

Bad experience
If I could give zero stars for communication with property manager and cleanliness of the cabin, I would.
The cabin was dirty. The couch cushions have numerous obvious stains. The grey blankets have random red stains that look like blood. The pillows in the downstairs bedroom had white stains all over them and the comforters as well. All of which I have pictures of.
We ended up leaving a day early due to no power in the cabin that we were not notified of prior to our arrival (but the property owners were aware of it). We had reached out to the property owners immediately about this power outage and stayed for 1 night in the pitch black in hopes that the power would come back on or the property manager would work with us. Neither happened so we only stayed one night. The property owner would not work with us for a refund and definitely did not make this situation easy for us. The property owners quit replying to my texts altogether forcing us to pursue other avenues to get this to work out. We came for an anniversary getaway and spent majority of our one night stay in our car to charge our phones and have some sort of light. All of our food that we had bought had gone to waste due to no power. All of the money we spent on gas to get to this trip had gone to waste. The property owner has terrible communication. I hope that nothing goes wrong on anyone else’s trip because they are not good about working with you to ensure you enjoy your stay. We will not be returning again.
