Pleasant room, albeit quite dated and rough around the edges. No thrills, but clean, warm and basic amenities like tea, coffee, shampoo. Restaurant attached for breakfast, drinks and meals -> can also order room service from the full Hungry Horse menu which sounds useful, although we didn't use this

I would say it's standard cheap and cheerful! Don't expect A/star prices for D/star prices! It's exactly what it says on the tin, hence why I gave it three out of five! Staff were friendly, the building is dated, hungry horse next door cheap and cheerful food. 👌

We enjoyed our overnight stay at the weathervane. It was very good value for the money it cost. We had the breakfast included option and we're glad we did. The staff were very helpful indeed. We decided to have our evening meal there as well. We both really enjoyed the food which was cooked perfectly and the prices were very much cheaper than we pay in Essex.
