Wonderful staff that are pleasant and willing to help with a smile. Dated facility. Musty smell. Clogged shower and bathroom sink drains, stained tubs. Room doors need new trim; big gaps allowed for hall light and noise to penetrate room. Comfortable beds. This facility needs extensive renovations. Paint can only do so much. Overall a 2 star stay, mostly because of the staff and convenient location.

TV and phone did not work. Had to ask twice to get TV fixed. Finally fixed the morning after we arrived. Found rotten plum on floor near a bed. Batheroom was so-so and bathtub needs mold cleaning. Carpeting, bedding and bed sashes were worn out, and disgusting. Restaurant was okay clean and fairly decent food. Lobby is kept clean and in okay condition. Pool was old looking and dirty, hot tub is boarded up. Parking lot pavement is in almost fair condition. Probably okay for a one night if traveling but not great for an extended stay with family.

Room review.

Found the carpet in the room very damp and the room smelled of mold. The mattress was not very comfortable sagged in the center, very uncomfortable. The mattress was so saggy you fell in the centre of the bed. The pool was very cloudy. Not sure why. You could not even see the bottom of the pool. Smelled of strong chlorine. The restaurant was okay.

The room smelled disgusting like a strong musty smell - smoke and mould. My throat was hurting. We think maybe they put cleaning chemicals to try to cover the smell but it didn’t work. We asked for another room but they said they were fully booked. They offered to put cleaning chemicals on the carpet which we didn’t not want to add to the chemicals that were irritating our throats. We tried to get another hotel room for the night, but every hotel in Sudbury with a higher rating was booked for the night (there was an event that day). The bedding had gross stains like poo or vomit. It was awful we had no choice but to stay or else we would have had to drive back to Toronto.

Staff were excellent in many ways. When approached about a small problem, they were responsive and attentive. Fixed the issue in minutes!

The carpet under the desk was soaking wet. When we called the front desk they said there were no other rooms and they couldn’t do anything about it. They offered for us to go and pick up more towels to try to clean it ourselves.

Coffee machine in room needs to be maintained and cleaned with vinegar. Terrible lighting in bathroom. Cleaning service is limited. Location is good. Parking gets filled up and not much available at night time.
