Coming up to the hotel, the grounds looked maintained. This is a good indication that the management understands that ones first impression of the facility is important. A trash can/cigarette collector out side would be a good addition to the "smoking area" out front, due to smokers just tossing their butts on the ground.
Entering the building first impressions were, it was tidy and maintained. I will touch more on this later.
Check in was straight forward. However my only complaint here was with the lack of communication from Expedia about an additional deposit (in my case of $60) by Hilton. Clarity and transparency here would do both companies great benefits. And to be honest, I'm not the sharpest tack in the box and I may have missed something here.
The room was what I would expect, as far as generally clean. No bugs, clean bathroom, and clean sheets. Now I did find a child's toy under the bed (during bug check) and noticed that that area hadn't been vacuumed for some time. As well as behind the furniture around the room. Deal breaker? No. But it is an indicator. Fan in the bathroom didn't work. "Normally" it comes on when the light is turned on. Unless this a different system than I'm used too. Over all, I was very happy with the cleanliness of the room.
Breakfast was good. I do recommend the three egg omelet. Service was great, Thank you Susan. Asian Poke restaurant with in walking distance.
Overall, I would recommend the Hilton Garden Inn (on Blaistone Rd)
