I stayed at CBA Hotel in the past (2009), and it was very nice. However, upon my arrival to Tanga in October 2025, I was informed that the hotel is no longer in operation. I had paid for the hotel room in advance via hotels.com, but could not stay there upon arrival since the hotel is no longer in operation/business. Unfortunately, I have been unable to receive reimbursement from the hotel or hotels.com for the booking paid in advance. Therefore, I caution people against booking at this hotel right now. It’s closed, but still being advertised on hotels.com as of October 8, 2025.

We loved this place! It was clean, quiet and reasonably priced. There’s a restaurant and nice garden area for dining. It is a short tuk tuk drive from the ferry or bus station (4000-5000shillings) across the road is the yacht club where you get a day pass for 10 000 shillings/pp, lots of lounging areas, pool table, showers, lockers and beachfront plus the food was exceptional (one of our favourite meals all trip) and reasonably priced. The area is very relaxing. Would definitely recommend as a fantastic budget accommodation.
