Great breakfast in a nice outdoor atmosphere. Room was beautiful. We were relatively close to the road, but did not hear the traffic. The bed was a bit squeaky, and the A/C was loud, but we slept well overall. I would stay again.

Great Retro Hotel

Great retro hotel. Room was comfortable and clean. Pool and spa were clean. Breakfast food and service was excellent. Within walking distance of historic district and art studios. Great stay!

Property is at the edge of town across from an abandoned former hotel. One can walk into town but perhaps not such a good idea late at night. One has to temper one's expectations. this is a "LODGE" (says it in the name). So, if one is ok with the rustic kind of lodge one finds in resort areas for fishing and hiking then you will think it fine. There is a place for your own grilling (bring the necessary items to do it), decent size refrigerator in the room and plenty of countertop space including one separating the kitchenette area from the rest of the room. Microwave, etc. No plates or utensils so again have to bring with or buy disposable. Plenty of wood for the fireplace as well as fire-starter and long matches (so they expect you to use it)-though it's mainly for show as the flue is not adjustable to heat the room in winter. Usual motel AC setup so rather noisy and tempremental. Decor is, like the room, something out of the late '70's early '80's. Pretty much a time capsule and a bit worn but functional and cozy. Separate pool area so is quiet and excellent parking. Didn't partake of the buffet breakfast but it is offered. Grounds are pretty/pleasant with many ornamental plants and variety of established conifer trees.

For many years, we've loved this little hidden gem! From the 1st step into the lobby you're greeted with chocolate chip cookies and a beautiful smile. El Pueblo Lodge is like a mini retreat landscaped as if you were home! Soft green grass, outdoor spaces to chill, beat your husband in cornhole or horseshoe, swim, hot tub, suntan, bbq a meal AND an easy walk to town if you choose to shop or find live music @ The Alamo (another star winner). Fully loaded tasty breakfast of tamales, green chili, bisquits, gravy, eggs, meat, danishes, and really good coffee!! Happy hour doesn't disappoint with crunchy chips and spicy salsa!! Our favorite place for sure!

Are stay at the El Pueblo Lodge was the best of the 3 day road trip. The complementary breakfast was the best. The staff were very polite and they cared that we enjoyed ourselves. Very convenient to walk to the plaza.

Absolutely wonderful place! A little slice of paradise. The hotel and grounds are very well maintained and cared for. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and most have back patios or porches. The breakfast is home cooked and extensive, the best I have ever had. I really can’t say enough great things about this place!
