On North Zealand you will also find Denmark's largest lakes and beautiful wooded areas as well as some of the most beautiful royal castles. Fredensborg Castle in the heart of North Zealand is inhabited by the royal family in both spring and fall and is therefore open to visitors in July, while the castle park is open all year round. Frederiksborg Castle in Hilleröd and Hamlet's Kronborg Castle in Helsingör are also well worth a visit.
