This was the first time for our group of four going to Japan. We each had our own room and while they were nothing flashy they had everything you’d need. The hotel staff was very friendly, made us feel comfortable and even helped us ship our luggage to the next hotel. The location is very convenient being just a few minutes away from the train station, konbinis and good restaurants. Shin-koiwa is a nice place away from the big city, while still having everything you need within walking distance.

Ideally located near to the train station. Clean as you would expect for a Japanese hotel. Rooms though are small and not a problem for a single person, but if you have a partner or small family then this is not a hotel for you! Staff were great, Jonathons restaurant next door have a good breakfast and dining facilities. The street outside is noisy and windows do not block out street noise even on the 6th floor...

The location was great. Shopping, restaurants, train station all within a block or less. The hotel was clean and comfy. Free breakfast at the attached restaurant Jonathons was so clutch and good. Price was fantastick. The only downside was that the economy room is very compact. If youre tall or overweight consider getting a room that costs a little more with more square footage.

Staff was excellent and easy to work with despite a major language barrier (I only knew a few key phrases and even then didn't remember to use them). Room was small but for the price we paid I'd say it was a great value The breakfast is served by the restaurant attached to the lobby and was a good buffet style meal. Would highly recommend.

Location just opposite a train station from where you could go anywhere in Tokyo. Thee was a 7 eleven right across the street so you could get food or anything there anytime of day or night. Free and lots of , tea, toothbrush, slippers and robe to use while you are there. Good shower pressure. Rooms are really small but window opens so you can get fresh air, carpet was a little dirty and bed was a little low close to the floor . Bathroom was a step up from the room and shower tub wall was high which was in all hotels in Japan

Second Time

I stayed at this hotel last year and decided to stay here again because its so conveniently located. Less than a 5 minute walkbto the station, 20 minute ride to Asakusa or the Tokyo Skytree, and a great kebab place that's less than half a block away

Very respectful staff, and very helping, there's a restaurant that is annexed to the hotel and the food is very delicious and cost friendly. The train station is only a 1min walk away with convinience stores on the opposite side of the street, very convient location and easy to travel to, would definitely stay there again.

The hotel is very very near JR Shin-Koiwa station and have lots of fast food chain and convenience store around the place. Best thing is that it only takes less than 15 minutes to reach Tokyo Station by train. I've stayed here twice, and will continue to do so I ever return to Japan for another visit

Liked: - Close to station. Many restaurants and conbinis. Area feels like a cute little town of its own. There are a lot of bike riders in the area though so just be careful when walking. Yes, the location isn't super central Tokyo, so it feels like it's an hour from everything (besides Akihabara if that's your target), but the trains aren't too full when they stop here so you can usually get a good seat for the first leg before you transfer. - Huge room. This is why I chose the room with sofa. Just to have more space. And it was great. I could really spread my things out compared to other hotels. - Friendly, helpful staff. I had nice conversations with them (in Japanese) - There is a nice vending machine in the lobby with a bean soup option for a quick, cheap breakfast. - They had Coppelion in the manga shelf. I should rate 5 stars for that alone. - Two microwaves!! Didn't like: - The main entrance has only stairs. Yes, there is a back entrance for people who don't want to drag their suitcase up the stairs, but from the outside it says "staff only" so you don't actually think to try to use it. - There were some dusty spots in the room and a leftover item from the last guest. But least there was nothing huge except a few tiny black spots which maybe were mold? But there was no smell and it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. - Toilet paper was too thin - Even with a meal ticket the breakfast involved writing my name and waiting 3-5min to be seated - Pillows not the comfiest
