This property is actually the infamous ICE building in Toronto. It had a murder by gunshot in March. Rivet is intentionally obscuring this fact by calling it “The York”.

What a disgrace. Don’t stay here!

We had to wait outside in the rain for half an hour and had to call the concierge 4 times to get sometime to come let us in. The room itself was dirty. The dryer was left on and full of laundry and kept chiming until we turned it off. The shower curtain rings were rusty and missing some so 1/3 of the shower curtain was open and couldn’t close all the was. For the price of the room how can they not afford to get a new shower curtain or properly clean the unit??

The property was much smaller than advertised. The beds were rock hard. The dryer had sheets in it obviously from the previous tenants. The only good thing was the location. It was close to the harbour front and there was a supermarket across the road. I wouldn’t stay there again

location is superb. Very responsive contacts for all arrangements. no plug for kitchen sink, so we could not do dishes. Also garbage shute remained locked so we could not drop garbage down.

Only nice thing is the building from the outside. Area is fine but nothing special. Common areas past the lobby is poorly kept - dirty and poorly maintained. Unit is very old and poorly maintained. The whole check in process feels “dodgy” - the individual did not want to be seen by the concierge (if you call the ‘person’ behind the desk that). Overall a very disappointing experience. I’ll never stay with RivetStays again.

The apartment was a great home base for all the activities we were doing in Toronto. Great walkability to all the main attractions and nice to have space with the two bedrooms and the main area. Only negatives were that a lot of the floor lamps were not plugged in and it was difficult to get them plugged in as we had to move furniture, and while the kitchenette was well stocked with plates/cups/bowls/utensils, there were no cloths/dishtowels or soap for the dishwasher, so doing dishes was challenging.

It was close to everything we wanted to see. The owners were very responsive and we knew they would always answer any questions we had. When we arrived the directions were easy. The room itself was cool. It was dirty. The floors were not cleaned. Stuff on the walls and light switches. Chair broken. And other things were broken. I documented everything so they would know it wasn’t us that did it. There were no towels or bed sheets for the pull out. Which was so uncomfortable. I looked around for the towels and bed sheets and found them in the dryer. So we had to fold the laundry. You need to remove garbage and recyclables yourself. If not you will be charged. We went once and the next time before we left we went to throw more out and it was out of service. Seeing you could be charged for garbage and you had no where to put it. We took it with us. My husband wouldn’t sleep in the bed. He was seeing black hairs all over the sheets. So he wasn’t going to sleep in the bed sheets. I did. I was to tired to care. We arrived in TO at 7am from NL. So we had to book the place an extra day so we didn’t have to bring our bags around. I am not sure if Expedia or the owners wrote us. But there was confusion or forgetfulness on their part. They said a cleaner would be coming to clean. No one showed up. Or to fix the closet that we couldn’t use bc the door was stuck. No one fixed the issues.
