We enjoyed our stay in Totnes - a lovely and interesting small town with plenty to do. The hotel is an older building and in many places could do with a little investment in the rooms. Staff were friendly and breakfast was excellent.

Good points :- Location, helpful staff, clean an & comfortable rooms and dining facilities, good food. Bad points :- Car park far too small - can be a real problem finding a space and parking. No lift to upper floors and therefore access challenging for some senior citizens and a no-go for the disabled.

All the staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was not ready at the expected time but the staff quickly apologised and kindly offered a complimentary drink whilst we waited. The hotel is very old and some areas require attention (eg window sills, facias and mold in shower). The room (no 20) was large, comfortable and well appointed. Housekeeping were not able to supply a firmer pillow when requested. Breakfast was very good but the evening meal was a little disappointing ( fish pie very good but accompanying vegables not so - tenderstem broccoli was very tough).
